    There's no kitten donation box either, the entire left panel is missing. I thought it was just a browser problem (using Google Chrome) but it's the same for Firefox...

    Move your cursor to the far left, you'll get a black line appearing down the side of the page. Click on it and everything should reappear.

    Move your mouse pointer to the extreme left on the screen.
    You will see a JavaScript thingy there. Click on it.

    Nope. It's fukn brilliant. Works perfectly. Can't blame me if some people click the thing and then wonder why the panel has gone, but can't figure out that clicking the thing might have something to do with it. Tongue

    I don't remember clicking it  Tongue But I have my PC hooked up to my LCD and I use my wireless keyboard and mouse on the couch...so I must've dropped my mouse and it clicked or something.  whistling2

    I have this theory. My theory, which is mine, goes like this....................

    You can only collapse the bloody thing by clicking the nifty bar.

    If you don't click it, nothing disappears.

    If you're stuffing around and a bar appears, then you click the damned thing, then the left panel mit der schoutenboxen disappears, it should not be a massive stretch of the intellect to conclude that the two events may be related.

    The problem I see with such a theory is if someone clicked a black thing without realising they did such a thing (spiral being one example, I know someone else has done so too), then moving your cursor to the left side isn't going to be the first solution that pops into your head Tongue

    I don't honestly care, it's just not the most obvious design Tongue Part of my dissertation involved good design techniques and this doesn't come under it at all Cheesy

    Comes under mine, mate. A bar like this is the only solution that allows collapsing or expanding the panel without scrolling around looking for poxy little icons. It's the default method on the portal we'll be using when we upgrade the software and I was totally sold on it the first time I saw it. I thought it was bloody brilliant. Never gave me a moment's trouble. That's why I coded my own version for this place.
