    Does this "promising afterlife" mean that current life is prison? This is like brainwashing someone to overlook current and real situations in life for a future we are not really sure about.  Such believes are  the root of many problems including women and animals' suffering in this real world and anti-environmental mentality for destroying this beauitul planet. IF in the end its it all about meeting  ... then what about any spirituality in this religion is there any other "higher" goal for someone who genuinely wants self realization ,  trancendence of soul,  etc ?

    To be honest, I never knew whether to believe in it or not. When I was younger, my mother would tell me the 72 virgins thing is man's take on what awaits him in heaven. *shrug*
    It's still quite infuriating either way. If you were to ask a scholar/imam about women and their own 72 hunks, he might die from shock at the very suggestion. Like, woah lady, how dare you not be satisfied with your husband of this life?  Blasphemy! Roll Eyes

    I was kind of looking forward to heaven as a young teenage Muslim but after I read up on how the houris and wives will have jealousy removed form their heart it made me feel guilty. God was manipulating women's natural emotions to satisfy my sexual urges which I deemed to be unfair and that was also compounded by the fact I would feel angry if i was a woman in jannah who didn't get any males virgins and my husband was having sex with 72 lol.
