Muhammad Asad was quite the hero for the Pakistan Movement when he first came to British India. He was made the first Pakistani Ambassador to the UN as well as being a valued diplomat in the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan until the early 1950s. But apparently he got disillusioned with the increasing influence of Deobandi zealots in public affairs and then left Pakistan.

Tariq Aziz is a typical commie. Lets tax the rich and give it to the poor, lets penalize the most productive of the society to feed and educate the illiterate. Lets start with sterilizing them so they don't create more babies into poverty. The absurd idea is to get rid of the wealthy aristocratic land lords of Pakistan, who actually in most cases employ these lower-class peasants. At least they have a job, but Tariq Aziz does not even want them to have that. Absurd these guys are always attacking the land-lords for no reason at all.

I don't like Altaf though, he is an Pakistani Indian, and any city where Pakistani Indians dominate they turn it into a really nasty and dirty place, look at Karachi majority of the population are immigrant Indians. Look at Punjabi cites much more cleaner. Look at New Deli it is a slum, Punjabis would never tolerate slum-dog lifestyle.

  • Re: Conversations With History_ Pakistan ., Great videos
     Reply #15 - February 16, 2010, 06:44 PM

Pashtun, should ideally be in Afghanistan, we have our own problems, and the Taliban do not rule Afghanistan any-more, they should go home. I don't have any ill-will with real Pakistani pushtoons, who had always lived in areas like Attock. Bolochis, need a good ass whooping in my opinion we need to send a few Punjabi platoons down there to sort some of these troublemakers out. Muhajirs Sindhis can go back to India, they are really Indians, and we cannon support them.

King Tut, you are an interesting Guy atleast you are speaking your mind, I have another question if you don't mind.

What is your definition of a Pakistani? since as much i'm guess you don't like anybody except Punjabis ?  Smiley  Smiley
  • Re: Conversations With History_ Pakistan ., Great videos
     Reply #17 - February 16, 2010, 07:32 PM

Frankly Pakistan was a bad idea. Pakistani is someone who, supports the army wants the unification of Pakistan, supports the idea of a democratic and secular Pakistan, is well educated and is from the middle, and upper classes of Pakistani society. Of course, this is my definition not the actual definition.

In any case I am not a big fan of Pakistan, it is too ethnically fragmented, I want a United Punjab as an independent nation. Both Pakistani and India Punjab united.

     Reply #19 - February 16, 2010, 07:57 PM

I can understand your point of view regarding united Punjab, that's understandable. I also agree that Pakistan was not a good idea.

But If Pakistan has to survive, i would only be on equal grounds for all participating nationalities. So if we talk of Pakistan than we have to accept all nations as equal partners. Further countries are not more important than the people which are living in them, countries are just collection of institutions, and only that institution can survive which works, though still i want Pakistan to work and succeed, but the recent signs are saying something else..

Regarding Army, i believe we don't need such a big army.
  • Re: Conversations With History_ Pakistan ., Great videos
     Reply #20 - February 16, 2010, 08:01 PM

Pakistan will survive, once the older folks die off. The younger generation, realize that fragmenting the country just makes them weaker. Look at Bangladesh it is a shithole, and they said they would be better off without Pakistan.
  • Re: Conversations With History_ Pakistan ., Great videos
     Reply #21 - February 16, 2010, 08:14 PM

Fragmentation is not something that people are doing to the country, Its the fact that there are multiple ethnicities living in this country, and they have their own language and history.

And i don't believe that, it makes the country weaker. You can have multiple nations in the country, they just have to agree on something common Law, And there should be mutual trust, and no injustice.

And i don't believe that, nations die out in single generation, further as you want your own united Punjab, than you should understand why Bengali wanted there country?

And atleast they are on the right track, recently they have banned religion in politics, will take us decades to do such a thing.
  • Re: Conversations With History_ Pakistan ., Great videos
     Reply #22 - February 17, 2010, 05:46 AM

The only way Pakistan can survive is to first castrate the power of this country's national "leaders", all of whom more or less come from very strong feudal bloodlines (Bhuttos, Zardaris, Chaudhrys, Sharif brothers, etc) and have always tended to petty regional bullshit rather than united effort for the country. The middle class must have a voice and it must become proactive without becoming lame sheep in the hands of bigots like Zaid Hamid nor the hypocrisy of Imran Khan.

Imran has what it takes to be a great leader, but he tends to hang out with the wrong people - not to mention being a Taliban apologist.

Second and third is simple: Secular Education with decreasing Islamisation bullshit interference. The fraud of American/Saudi backed Islamisation was a bullshit legacy of the late 1970s and 1980s. We have seen how well Pakistan has become in the name of Allah, Jihad, and Dollar.  Roll Eyes

My dad often says in Urdu:

    Imaan, Ittehad, Tanzeem;
    naam ko nahin hum mein.
    Kartay hain hum Jihad,
    Dollar ki talaash mein.
