  • Problem with sound in Firefox
     OP - February 07, 2010, 12:39 PM

Apparently my flash player seems to have lost its sound.  The computer's ok and sound works when I use other internet browsers...  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugins but nothing seems to work.  Could it be due to interference from other plugins or something to do with the upgrading of firefox?

    Any help is appreciated.. thanx.

Don't know if I can help you. Which version did you upgrade to?

    Shockwave version 10.0

Okay, but is it a final release? It's not an alpha or beta release, right?
Did you try to reinstall Firefox?

No idea about whether its alpha or beta...  I was hoping to avoid having to uninstall and reinstall firefox, so I haven't done it yet.

Try reinstalling Flash (no need for removing it first): http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

That's the first thing I did.  Still didn't work

Right. Try reinstalling FF 3.6 without removing it first. If that doesn't work you can try a clean install (backup the settings, psw, bookmarks, etc. with http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/)

Cheers.. I try that.  I was hesitant of uninstalling firefox because I didn't want to loose my add ons and plugins
