    Everybody rejoice!

    We have a wiki family of four now: English, Deutsch, Türkçe and العربية.

    Things I've started to translate into German:
    Hassan's Story -> Hassans Geschichte

    BerberElla's_Story -> BerberEllas Geschichte

    Join and write articles, damn it! But before you can do anything, one of the wiki admins (me, Allat, Osmanthus) has to give you Editor rights first. So please, be patient! Smiley

    Great, I like that it's multilingual. I'll try and find time to translate stuff into Arabic. I'll start with Berbs' story, don't count on me though, the stories are so long and I have exams every now and then. I thought of doing Hassan's first, but considering he knows Arabic I guess he would be able to convey his ideas better.

    Thanks, Infidel. Any help is appreciated, no matter how little. You can contribute translations whenever you have time. We don't have to finish our translation projects immediately. We can do it bit by bit, too.

    z10: Primarily anything that is related to Islam, but other topics are okay as well (unless it's really too off-topic.)

    Somebody might want to start writing articles on popular (Islamic) preachers and list the opinions they have on certain topics (like gender rights, apostasy etc.)

    Articles that review books which are used in the education system in Muslim countries would be very interesting. Reviews of other books would be welcome as well of course.

    That's terrific. I have a degree in translation and am fluent in French, so if you ever consider doing a French version, I might be able to help (if procrastination doesn't get in the way, of course  parrot)

    You're fluent in French, that's great! Would you be interested in slowly translating Hassan's book into French?

    I can easily create another wiki for the family. Shouldn't take me more than 5 minutes. By the way, how would you translate "Murtadpedia" into French? Would it even sound okay in French? It does in the other languages in my opinion.

    You could leave it like that, of course. In French Wikipedia stays more or less the same (Wikip?dia). If you really had to translate it it would be something like Apostatp?dia. You wouldn't want that, would you?  Smiley

    Nope. Whatever sounds better. A literal translation is not needed. So I'll name the French wiki "Murtadpédia" as well. Good?

    Cool. Just register, please, and I'll give you editor rights. When you're given editor privileges, go to http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/wiki/fr/{{Hassan's_Story}} and click on "create page" at the top (translate the placeholder {{...}} of course).

    You don't have to know much about the markup used in wiki pages. It's very easy to learn. Look at other pages for example (clicking on edit will show the text.) Don't worry about making mistakes, I'll fix them for you. Smiley

    Erm Yes double on that. Ask for permission first. And its not public, its on a public forum yes, but that is a decision they've made doesn't mean they would want it all over the net. I'd be really pissed off if somebody copied and pasted my text.

    Thanks, but I'm somewhat reluctant to allow you as an editor. Not because I have something personal against you, but because of your views, some of which still reflect the FFI mentality ("Islam is all bad and must be eradicated, yada yada..."). With our forum we wanted to get away from FFI and their bigotry. So with our wiki family we obviously want to do the same.

    You can still contribute to the French wiki as a translator if you want. Somebody like Naerys must proofread your texts before I add them to the wiki. Maybe you'd like to start translating one of the chapters in Hassan's book? Chapter 2 perhaps? I would suggest that you use this excellent online editor (which allows real-time collaboration with others): http://etherpad.com/ (New document) (Tip: Don't lose the URL of your work. If it's gone, it's gone.)
