I also like Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Mlada Fronta and I think Jean Michel Jarre did some brilliant stuff.

I am a BIG fan of Aphex Twin.  Would love to see him live but a) he rarely advertises his gigs, b) I'm too skint to go to any gigs right now and, c) there would probably be lots of strobe lights and I'm allergic to strobe lights.

Here's a somewhat disturbing Aphex Twin video done by the awesome Chris Cunningham:

    (sorry, can't embed this one).

My second favorite is Boards of Canada:

Cheers for bumping this one, I missed it during my search crusade through old threads.

My adolescence came after the UK garage wave but I still got hooked when I discovered MJ Cole and began obsessively collecting everything he's ever done during those days.  That led me to appreciate most forms of UK edm, especially where jazz and soul/funk is infused.

I mean, I was into it in a big way. Ibiza was like a second home. We’d go there as often as we could, work a few shifts, get the hours in, take the money, grab whatever cheap flights we could, just fuck off there for a week or so. Had friends there, etc. Still got friends there. Ibiza during the summers of love, wasted youth, when the clubs spilled out onto the beach, when you were still dancing when the sun was rising, when the parties went on till sunrise and beyond, back when it meant something to me, before the sunburned chavs and football hooligans took the place over and filled it with happy hardcore and trance-by-numbers. The magic just wasn’t there anymore. Call me a snob, I don’t really care. I probably am. Maybe things are different there now. I have not been for a few years. But then, what do I know anyway? I’m just a junkie fuckbag who’s musical tastes have been ploughed out by too many raves.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not knocking the music. Just the Ibiza scene, or what it became. I’ll dance to the music any weekend if I’m out, the same as ever. But only if there are no drum & bass nights on, or no raves, or we just decided to go out unplanned. We’ll end up in any old club, dancing to whatever. I still appreciate the music - trance, house, dance, whatever you wanna call mainstream club music. Still got my Ministry of Sound albums amongst my favourites.

Besides, it will always have a place in my heart, for one reason above all:

Rui Da Silva - Touch Me
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N3Z9lTRKm8

This was doing the rounds and filling the floors the night I met my boyfriend. It is our song. What a perfect soundtrack to a perfect moment. Defining moments in my life like that almost make me believe in destiny. It's the little things that are what it's all about for me.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Wow! Thats amazing about europe that you can just drive / take a quick train anywhere u want to. Ibiza is a goto on my list inshallah!

What DJs have u seen live at ibiza ? And I also heard its pricey there is it true ?

Here in the GTA we have one of the best clubs in the world called "Guvernment". http://www.theguvernment.com/
They host tonnes of famous djs. Seen Armin, Benassi, Guetta as well as Tiesto, really enjoyed them.

I dunno about where you are, but you can pick up cheap flights here in Uk all the time.

What DJs have u seen live at ibiza ?

Wow, too many to mention. Seriously, there are so many great DJ’s that are on permanent shift there, plus so many guest DJ’s, you’ll be like a kid in a sweet shop, if you like Van Buuren and Guetta and all that. Most memorable for me there was Marco V.

And I also heard its pricey there is it true ?

Well it's not cheap, thats for sure. I imagine it's even more expensive now. But you can get cheap packages if you keep your eyes open and last minute deals if you’re lucky, I guess.

Raver ProTip: Make friends. You can save so much money if you’ve got somewhere to crash for a few days. Then, the only expense is getting there and back. Plus food, alcohol, door fees, taxis, etc. But we hardly ever drunk on a night time. It’s cheaper to drop a pill. I don’t normally drink on pills, not counting water. We only really got drunk during the day time chilling out.

Depends what you’re going for really. If you’re going for a holiday and to see the island, then you’ll need money. But if you’re only going to be raving, all you really need is a bed to crash on and a bit of spending money. Or even a floor or someone’s sofa.

Here in the GTA we have one of the best clubs in the world called "Guvernment". http://www.theguvernment.com/

If you wanna go for the superclubs, Sant Antoni is only about 30mins from Ibiza town. Lots of massive clubs there. Like Eden and El Paradis. Some of the bigger clubs are along the way from Ibiza to Sant Antoni, like Privalage, Amnesia (which hosts Cream, you’ve probably heard of). Pacha is good too, forgot where that one is. But any serious raver should go to Space Ibiza at least once in their life. It’s like dance Mecca.
