It is funny, because I've had an acog for years (personal one) and never noticed, because it is something you would need to look for and know that the letter number combo at the end of the stock number meant. I'd be willing to bet pretty much everyone who has one did not notice that till now...
Interesting thing is these aren't made just for the military, but also other nations and police use them (because they are really good), I'd bet there is a mujihadeen looking though one right now somewhere.
On a side note, I never understood born again christians who were into this stuff...doesn't their jesus tell them to go live in a cave and not play with swords or something
"I come not to bring peace to the world but an M4"-- Jesus.
And, yeah, most people wouldn't notice the SNs, Trijicon has been doing this since the early 90s at least, and no one noticed before, but it's out there now.
Objectionable in the sense that I don't like people promoting religion. Personally, if it is a good scope I couldn't give shit if had verses praising Xenu on it either
Of course-- if ACOGs were considerably cheaper, I'd still consider mounting one on my M4, Jesus stuff on the SN and all. But I still think the US military should've either demanded this stuff be removed by the company as soon as they knew about it or removed it themselves. Not only does it violate our Constitutional prohibition on mxing church and state, but it undermines the particular war efforts underway now that it's public knowledge. Kinda hard to deny the enemy's claims you're a Crusader when your equipment has Christian messages on it.
