Why can't you set your age in your profile here?

I don't want to give my date of birth in case you guys get hacked some day and osama bin laden finds out my date of birth and tracks me down. I would much rather just type in my age directly. Why isn't there a field for that in the profile?

lol, yeah I don't think you need to worry about "giving away" your birthday. Unless your Salman Rushdie, very few of us here have to 'worry' about shit.

Instead of doing that, I'd just send a PM to the resident tech monkeys (osmanthus, allat) to move the thread over there-- they're the ones who need to see this anyways.

liberated, you could use a different part of the year/a different month & date and the same year as your birthdate, so your actual age shows up in your profile, but your birthday isn't stored as exactly the date it actually is.

But then I'll be 21 in real life and still show up as 20 here for months . Would be a lot easier if i could just type my age in
