    I just wanted to ask if there was actually any justification for translating verse 78:33 as something other than voluptuous women of equal age.

    WakawaAAiba atraban

    78.033
    And voluptuous women of equal age;

    It sometimes gets translated as:

    Asad: and splendid companions well matched.
     
    Im guessing its like daraba. People only have a problem with it now, so it must mean something else.

    I can not help you much with this one just by looking at it.

    Several Translations:

    The Two words: "Kawa-ib Atraban" Literally mean:

    Kawai-ib = Some word based on the word ankles.
    Atraban = I do not know this word

    It is next to impossible for me to see where the 'equal age' comes from. I will go read some tafseer.

    Kawa-ib : Girls whose breasts grew to look like an ankle, so not old enough to sag or to get too big.

    Kortobi mentioned a poem by a poet called al-dahak where he stated: "Like the Kawa-ib of virgins".

    The second word, atraban, is being comparaed to al-laddat which is another word i do not know. But in light of the first word, Atrab can not mean the same age. Unless in heaven everyone is a teenager.

    Tafseer of Ibn Kathir explains it well, Kawa-ib al Arab was a known term, meanting the virgins of the arabs, meant as a compliment to the good looking young arab women.

    Atraban, means in One age.

    The verse means, you will get a whole bunch of girls whose breasts are still looking like an ankle (not big enough to be a 'nahd' yet), and all the girls will be of One age.

    So basically houris are about 13 years old. Wonderful. What if your into experienced women, or big butts?
