Skip to the 21:40 mark, he calls us (people with no belief) cows/donkeys and pigs. To be honest, its insulting. I don't think A.R.G. thought about what he said. His parents are still alive and they are not muslim, so he pretty much called them pigs. Very stupid of you A.R.G., very stupid...

AbdurRaheem Green is such a total prick. If it wasn't for the fact that Muslims in the Asian Subcontinent & Middle East revere white English converts, no-one would pay him any attention.

He's one of the reasons I never paid much attention to the salafi's even as a muslim. I always thought they were intellectually void, just ranting and always looking as though they wanted an argument. I think the worst and most repulsive thing that they said was that true islam was only the first three generations, everything after that was just innovation. At least the traditional lot partly acknowledged the Greek and Buddhist influence on the religion.

One only has to look at the sort of people attracted to Salafi Da'wa to see they are not a particularly bright lot. You don't need to be. Any idiot can pick up the Qur'an and become an instant Salafi Scholar.

But their power is in that very egalitarian nature. It gives power to the ignorant over the intelligent.

(Ironically the extreme Islam/Muslim haters who insist that 'true' Islam is the Islam of the terrorists are a sort of anti-Salafi mirror image )

That's what attracted me to the traditional movements or the way Islam has been practiced by Ahl-e-Sunnah and propogated by the likes of HY and AHM. At least there is an acknowledgement that there has been evolution in Islam and the aqeedah's etc have had some influence from Greek and Buddhist thought.

Why do they revere white converts? I've noticed it online; it as though they've won the lotto when you hear their reactions. Do they get bonus points if they convert a white person?

I think it might be because white converts are seen as people who have cut through the bad press and negative media attention that Islam is given, to see the "true light" of Islam from pure sources. There is also this notion that there must be truth in Islam if a white middle class university educated person embraces it.

If they are S.Asians it could also have to do with history and the former colonisation of the Indian Subcontinent by the British...
