I wonder if it happened at the time you did the coding?

Could be. I loaded the default/Post.template.php first before loading all the css files for our different themes and their variations. The new buttons use the css float right property and that wouldn't have taken effect until the css was loaded. Css is cached, so if you were viewing a post when the template loaded and haven't cleared your browser cache since then it might be a tad confoozled. I did mention clearing the cache at the time.

It is much nicer now. By the way I have been to few forums before and honestly this forum is most well designed and well presented forum I have ever seen. It's look and functionality are gr8 indeed!

Agreed, I have never seen another forum that is as well designed, easy to  navigate, quick and function rich as this one.  Even the forum statistics is an add-on I have not seen elsewhere and interesting yet rarely mentioned.
I think its the transparency & dedication of the mods thats enabled it to get this far.

Ok, to make things a bit clearer for people who aren't aware of this feature I've changed the heading below the reply page from the  somewhat useless and cryptic "Topic Summary" to a hopefully informative "Additional quotes may be selected from the list of posts below."  grin12
I've also changed the tiny "Insert quote" links to a nice bold "Quote this post". Should help save some confusion in future. dance
Of course, there is no doubt that more and brand shiny new confusion will be forthcoming in due course, but we will deal with such as it arises.  Afro

Examples? Note that at the moment they will go up and down depending on post content because they are coded to have a line break after the last line of text in the post. The same applied to the old quick edit button. I just plonked the new buttons in the same location. They shouldn't move left to right though.

They seem to move up/down depending on the size of the post. For a large post the buttons are in the proper place (on top of the "Report to moderator/Logged" links. If it is a short post the 'reply' button moves to the bottom of the post and there is a big gap between the 'reply' and 'report to mod'. I'm slightly OCD so it's annoying me Tongue

Why can I see me IP address with a note explaining only mods can see it.  It might be better to make it invisible too, otherwise some conspiracy theorist might think they are being tracked and might worry them.  Also I dont need to see my IP address do I?

Bugger the conpsiracy theorists.  grin12  All IP's are logged automatically and the staff need the thingy in case we need to check for sock puppets, etc. Anyway the little computer looks cool.

Ive always assumed its a mod thing to edit our posts.  Lords Os has the power to control what we see and how we say it, without us even realising it.

What does the Edit button do?

It blows up the internet. Try it.  dance

Actually it's a quick edit feature when you just need to correct typos or whatever. It doesn't need to load the full reply page so it's faster, but it doesn't have all the fancy buttons.

The Modify button takes you to the full reply page with all the extras but because it has to load a whole new page it takes longer.

It should just load an edit window inside the post on the same page. Can be a bit slow sometimes. Other times it's really quick.

ETA: Took about 7 seconds this time.

Peru: clear your browser cache and force a refresh.

Hass: all the buttons work for me. I'll log out of the admin account and test them on a standard account.
