Toronto. Which isn't bad. I'm just far away from everyone I've ever known... and Canada is too bloody cold for me most of the year, I hate the weather.

I've heard of A.C. Grayling. Can't pinpoint where from though. But he is also going to be at a One Law For All rally in November according to the CEMB website. I'm near London but I can't afford to go.

The unlived life is not worth examining.

My parents moved to Karachi too after the partition, and then to UK.  What made you move from USA to Canada?

AC Grayling is a professor of philosophy , author and columnist , as well as a prominent atheist / humanist .
I think he might have spoken at the anti-sharia conference at Conway Hall last year as well , but I'm not sure I got there late

My dad's family initially moved to what's now Bangladesh (East Pakistan back then). After the Pakistani massacre of 1971 there, they managed to leave and moved to Pakistan (ironic, isn't it?) I guess they couldn't go back to India like the 10 million refugees who did that during that war.

As for moving from USA to Canada, it's a long story, but basically it was because the US has really homophobic laws and back in 2004 when we left, it was a real nasty place to live. It's socio-political landscape may be changing but the basic arrogance and homophobia makes it impossible for a US citizen to sponsor his or her same-sex partner. So we came here instead. Toronto at least, is a fantastic city in terms of socio-politics and culture. If it wasn't enclosed in ice and antarctic winds 8 months of the year, it'd be perfect.

Allat, I'd be extrmely surprised if Toronto was afflicted by antarctic winds.  bunny
