I've had the wedding before, it wasn't a dream wedding but then again I was never the kind of girl who fantasised about the big day, it was just like a vague idea.

If I ever get the video converted to a dvd I'll upload it and show you.  Cheesy

I'm not sure I want to get married again, tbh I don't even think I could live with someone again, but if in the amazing miracle I do meet someone able to live with me and my "issues", or who actually breaks through my massive walls of defences, then I would like a simple wedding, under a willow tree.  A handfasting ceremony where we just declare our love to each other infront of people I care about.

I'm still getting married though Tongue I want my dream wedding.

And how exactly would that dream wedding be? Please describe, I'm all ears. banana dance

    Will we be invited?

Of course you'll be invited! Smiley I'll post up my wedding date in a few years if it ever happens and my parents don't kill me over my bf Tongue

I've always envisioned my dream wedding to be in a lovely garden with lots of pretty plants, a small river/stream thing and fountains. It has to be a lovely sunny day too, and I'd love to have a pretty white dress that isn't overdone like traditional asian dresses. I doubt Britain is the best place to have this sort of wedding with our unpredictable weather Tongue So not sure how this will pan out in the end.

EDIT: Actually forget that fountain, I want a waterfall instead!

It'd be great seeing your wedding video Berbs Smiley

I wish you luck with men in the future, they're not all assholes even if it usually seems that way yes

    Thanks Berbs & Peruvian! Smiley

get  divorce and marry someone else

Don't you get it kope? If the institution of marriage faded away, there'd be no marriage, & automatically no divorce, can one get divorced without getting married?

Sex and the whole topic of making the human body 'taboo', meaning we should cover up are all social constructions.

When we see a woman with a short skirt on, we dont think 'oh look at that sexy thing' because of the skirt shes wearing with her legs showing...its the way we are socialised to see it, if woman had worn skirts that short for centuries, much like tribes in america and adfrica did, no one would see it as a problem, it would be normal to us.

We make a mountain out of a mole hill and this is what happens, we collectively create our relaity by what we think. Sex and women wearing 'revealing' clothing is only seen as 'naughty' because WE say it is, and build up all kind of silly perceptions in our minds.

At Bradford Uni where the majority of students are of muslim ethnicity, sex is rife in the community there because they are under the cosh at home and in their home muslim communities.

Covering up, hiding away, seperation... in my opinion its the opposite of this we all need, we need to open up, to not be afraid of eachother, of our 'private' bits, to get rid of the worry and loneines we feel from it.

I respect fully a woman who wants to wear what she wants though. But in my perception here in the UK is that a woman who wears muslim headscalf clothing is attracting attention to herself as she is the odd one out, nothing wrong with that at all but doesnt it defeat the reason for wearing it?

    Peace, Glen.

    Moral Question To Atheists

Is it sex before marriage ok?

    Yes, it's OK.

Now, can I ask you some moral questions:

    Quote
    Is hitting your wife OK?

    NO

    Quote
Is torturing people eternally in Hell for their beliefs - OK?

    punishing for crime is ok

    Quote
    Is executing adulterers OK?

    ok

    Quote
    Is keeping a slave OK?

    NO

    Quote
Is punishing people who leave Islam OK?

    NO

    Thanks for the answers.

Then by your own admission, Islam is immoral since it allows a man to hit his wife, keep a slave and for people to be executed/eternally tortured for their beliefs.

if humans follow atheists moral  to have sex as many people as we like, why should humans get marry?

By your logic, if you can have sex before marriage that means there's no point to getting married.
So the only reason for marriage in Islam is to have sex?

Why 18? I'd personally put the age of consent at 15/16

no, but when people have sex before marriage they only have sex

And when they have babies without being married, they only have babies.
And when they grow their kids up without being married, they are only growing up their kids.

So what is missing? The fact they don't do it in the name of Allah? lolz :S

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

    lol good answer Peruvian.

I think what he means to say is that there is no "deeper" meaning to sex when it's done before marriage. If that's what you mean kope then I'd suggest that your judgement is based solely on stereotypes (maybe you've watched too many movies?).

When a man gets married simply to satiate his sexual urges , as I have seen suggested countless time to Muslim men, what kind of relationship can he possibly develop with his wife? For the first while after marriage at least, it can't be very different than just having sex with a complete stranger.
I'm sure that even later on, in plenty of marriages (especially in the case of forced marriages) the wife is nothing to the husband BUT a sex partner. The fact that he has to financially support her doesn't make it any more morally right than prostitution.

And you really think that this, opposed to a man and a woman coming together because of their love but without a certificate, is the moral relationship?

Will it be wrong if humans stop marrying kope?

What if the institution of marriage faded away?

But weddings can be fun yes In the UK less and less people are getting married each year. Many are choosing to cohabitate. I'm personally in favour of this. Weddings are pointless and cost ridiculous amounts. I'm still getting married though Tongue I want my dream wedding.

I'm curious about how the wedding ceremony will be presented. Will it be done at a civil center (or whatever they are) with a white dress?

I definitely want to get married, although I have a similar opinion about it to Peruvian. I want nothing to do with religion in my marriage though, it will be more like a party  Cheesy

Are you going to have an Islamic one, like with the nikkah for symbolic reasons? even as an atheist I had a nikkah and an Islamic wedding, it was not amazing (I wanted my mom there) but it was alright I sat on a whore which I always wanted to do, it was amazing when I was riding it in the village I have a really nice photo of me sitting on top of it, then I went to my wifes house and picked her up, and I was hitting a sword by her dad and I had to smash a branch off a tree with one strike, then get my wife on the horse ride it to my house, and then pick her up and carry her into the house carry my wife to our house, good job she had lost some weight though.
