Ok I have three lined up. Haha it's so cool...
First off, Natasha Bedingfield - These Words
I imagine that she is writing a reply to the Qur'an challenge, struggles a lot, and clearly fails a lot when she writes: "I need some help, some inspiration, but its not coming easily" and when she writes: "Wastebin full of paper,
clever rhymes- see ya later". Here stating that clever rhymes don't necessarily or sufficiently make a good piece of literature.
But eventually she prevails and writes something short, yet very meaningful and very honest. This is the chorus:
"These words are my own, from my heart flow,
I love you, i love you, i love you, i love you,
There's no other way to better say
I love you, i love you."
My own reading into this is that she is saying she does not need some higher authority to write a sophisticated poem telling her what she should do, using heaven as carrot and hell as stick. She decides that she is motivated by her own self, from her own heart that she loves mankind deeply, repeating the simple words "I love you" as it is indeed the strongest sentiment a person can express.
Second up, The Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr. A
This is a VERY powerful judgment of God, according to my reading of it. And all the lyrics seem to fit so perfectly! Youtube the song and have a listen. Provides an interesting account of how even a being who knows absolutely everything and who has the power to do anything is not beyond fault. Plus it's just a cool song, hehe. Oh, and anybody got any ideas as to what the "A" could stand for in the title? I'm sure your thinking the same as me

Lastly, Amerie - 1 Thing
Describes pretty accurately the process of a religious believer noticing the fault in religion and mustering enough courage to abandon it, despite what people might say. Agreed, it lacks specific content, but that's what makes a good song in my opinion, as it means more people can relate to the lyrics of it because it doesn't dictate what to think about when your listening to the song; there is still room for your imagination
