  • Did Satan have a Wife?
     OP - February 08, 2009, 12:03 AM

"...Will you then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me?..." (18:50)

The word used in the Qur'an is thuriyyah which means offspring/seed.

I know many Muslims regard this as simply referring to his 'metaphorical' children, but I just thought it was funny that one commentator said it can only mean Satan had a spouse (zawjah) since one cannot (literally speaking) have "progeny" without having a partner.

I wonder if she nags him or complains about why is he always late home and he says he had to work late on a stubborn believer. Or his daughter rebels and threatens to worship God. Or his son's teacher rings home complaining that his son is being 'good' again!  grin12

    RFLOL!!!

Actually, I recently learned about a legend that Satan has a wife named Lilith, but I cannot imagine Satan believing in any kind of sanctity of marriage....even a satanic mockery of a marriage.

Apparently, Lilith did nag him about a pair of red high-healed shoes....but none of their offspring have rebelled and decided to worship God.  Cheesy

That would be funny, though.  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

Maybe their thuriyyah is something like our nephilim.

I don't know. I just report these things.

Oh, that's funny.  Where did you hear that Shaneequa?

Lilith was Adam's first wife, not Satan's wife.  Who on earth told you that nonsense?

I have heard that, too....but that is just a myth. And the Lilith/Satan thing is probably a myth. I just can't see Satan marrying.

Of course.  He had two wives, Lilith the evil, first wife, who always wanted to sit on top, and wouldn't take orders, or cook the dinner or anything else.  She, for obvious reasons, was banished into the wilderness.    Then came Eve, who was from Adam's rib, and therefore far more compliant.

Even she ate the forbidden fruit, evil bitch that she was.  That's women for ya.   Cheesy

Of course its a myth.  Satan's very existence is a myth, never mind his propensity towards marriage.

If they do not believe the bible, there is nothing I can say:
    Quote
Lu:16:30: And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
Lu:16:31: And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

I'm sorry. I wish there were.

I would think that Shaytaan's wives wouldn't last with him, being that he's been granted respite until yowm al-qiyaamah, and they haven't. Doesn't even need to be wives; babys' mamas grin12.

I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.

She's my favourite pagan atavism. Originally a goddess, now hidden subversive force, synonymous with the Tree of Life itself.

There is a book called 'The Sacrament of Abortion'. The author is quite open about it. Also, if you drive through an abortion center parking lot, alot of the employees' cars will have pagan bumper stickers...or at least some will. Others are more discreet...the high level ones.

Liltith may also be Diana, Heckate or even Kali (I think).

Lilithu is a Goddess of power so it makes sense.

I think so. Satan is demonised for similar reasons as Lilith.

I don't know. It's like trying to figure out which came first....the chicken or the egg. I'd have to say the abortion industry attracts pagans, but not everyone in the industry is a pagan.

Alot of it is big money and big science....but pagans like it.

Which country do you live in? (I'm tempted to ask which planet you live on Wink ) I have certainly not noticed anything of the sort.

Re my position when I was a Muslim, I always believed it was a woman's right to choose. I hold the same position now.
