Char kway teow & Anchor beer seemed to be a good combo for many people last time I went to Malaysia. I'm not that familiar with Indonesian cuisine but I highly doubt that pork is hard to come by over there either. You don't have to go far in Australia to find someone sporting a Bintang beer t-shirt. And on it goes...

Pork and alcohol were available in morocco when I was a teen, mind you the alcohol was much more expensive than it was over here, and my aunty cracked me up once when she bought pork sausages and told me never to tell anyone, but the meat was so much nicer hence she had to eat it.  Cheesy

Sorry to chuck a spanner in but I like the animals that eat to have had a decent life before slaughter. I buy Welsh lamb because I can see it well cared for, even as I look out of my study window now. Intensive pig farming is an abominable process and is still the main source of all our pig products. I stopped eating pork and ham years ago - I won't support animal cruelty.

That's a real important spanner to be chucked in the works. I have been vegan and vegetarian at times in my life. I still seek to be vegetarian again insha Allah. I recognise that I'm an evil prick in letting my taste buds take precedence over the suffering of sentient beings. It's so crazy when you think about it. Thanks for the reminder.
