    FANTASTIC!  More proof that homosexuality is not a social 'deviation'.  So the mullahs can stick THAT in their pipes and smoke it!  Oh yean, smoking is supposed to be haram...  Oh, well.

    I heard about that a while ago. Not this case but about a young penguin who was being raised by two dads. lol
    I guess the devil won't even leave penguins alone.

    I am going to make an unsubstantiated observation that this is possibly a survival mechanism in case a Father gets killed (The old joke about a penguin attending lunch with a sea-lion and a whale...), there will be some backup fathers to take care of the egg.

    Of course it's natural. It wouldn't exist if it wasn't. Anyone with 2 brain cells can see that. It's an evolved behaviour that confers an advantage to any species in which it occurs - in this case, the survival of extra penguin chicks that would otherwise have perished.

    I think the couple were ostracised for egg-stealing (kidnapping) rather than being gay.

    Good point. And I'd like to know who is sexing the penguins. I've sexed ducks in the past (during bird ringing ops you understand-honest) and that's difficult enough. I should think a large penguin might just end up sexing you if you tried it.

    There was a great article in NewScientist a while a go about this, they opened a museum about animal sex acts Cheesy I sooo want to visit it! Tongue

    It's a no brainer really - they only have a cloaca. Only one  opening for all functions. In male birds the penis is tucked away just inside and is flipped outside for ejaculation. To sex ducks you just upend the bird and apply a little pressure either side of the cloaca and if it's a little boy he comes out to say 'hello'.
