Aha!  Right thanx.  Hopefully sj will be a sporting chap about it.   Smiley

Of course he will. Like I said , just get the FIDO rule book from Wikipedia and there's some very explicit little diagrams of each move, including such esoteric stuff as 'en passant' and so forth.

According to the ahadith, playing chess is equivalent to dipping your hands in swine blood.

I don't get anything under the 'games' tab.  (also my mouse indicator turns to an 'I'-bar when I go over the tab headings rather than being the hand-pointer).

Is this all a function of still being on IE6?

Sadly firefox doesn't seem to work with my office's internet banking system so I'm stuck with IE at the moment.

It's not my office but the website of our bank.  It has this 'virtual keyboard' password system that just doesn't seem to appear on anything but IE.

The drop menus don't appear in IE6. I can fix the pointer but forgot about that. I'll load the corrected code while I'm here anyway.

Sparky, you can use a direct link for access. The menu tabs are only pretty pictures to hide the text links anyway.
Put this in your address bar and bookmark it:

If you need any other functions we can arrange a table of them and sticky it.

ETA: I've just suggested to Burbles that she list all our drop menu functions with their direct links. You can use our Bookmarks buttons to access that post directly once it's up and you've visited it once. Just select "Add Bookmark" next to "Reply" under the relevant post.

The pointer should be working now. Other browsers do it by default but IE 6 and 7 require extra code to tell them to do it or they're too dumb to remember. Microsoft really ought to do the world a favour and stop trying to make browsers. They always get it wrong.
