I'm spending quite a bit of time here, so I thought I'd tag a simple identifying avatar pic from my own files into my profile. Tried, tried and tried again, but following the instructions there doesn't seem to work. Any tips? Cheers. Neil

Have you got a photobucket account or similar? You can link an image from that.

Thanks, Osmanthus. I tried that (and myspace), but it didn't take, even when I'd reduced the picture to minimum. No big deal, but if you do have another idea, I'd be grateful. Cheers. Neil

What size picture were you trying to use? You should be able to link anything up to 150px high by 125 wide.

If you can give me the url of the image you want to use I'll hook it up for you.

That's awful kind of you, Osmanthus. Here's the one I was trying to put up (http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c45/neilmarr/?action=view&current=upgod.jpg). It's the famous creation scene from the Sistine Chapel ceiling ... with a subtle twist. If it's too big, I have another in reserve. Sorry for the trouble. Happy weekend. Neil

Funny. Don't know why it wasn't working before.

Many thanks, Osmanthus. Much appreciated. Pity Adam's finger-sign doesn't come across in a tiny reproduction ... but it's the thought that counts, eh? Very best. Neil

While I'm on Osmanthus, is there a way to change the posting times shown on site? When I pull up the C ofeM, the hours shown seem way out of whack with the actual time in the UK or elsewhere. Cheers. Neil

Many thanks, Awais. Will do. It's handy to see local times when I pop in occasionally during the day. Bestest. Neil

PS: That worked perfectly. Much appreciated, Awais. N

Yeah, no prob. Like you I got sick of looking at times not local and trying to decipher them.

Yep, I had to add on five hours. Seems to me that means the board's default time must be set to something like a thousand miles east of New York or maybe the Falkland Isles. Mind you, I'm no mathematician. Hoots. Neil

Nah, it's probably just EST, with DST

Just for interest, Awais, I guess most fellow-members are UK-based (going from the organisation's title); any idea where others are located? I'm tucked away in the very south-eastern corner of France, bang on the Italian border. Best. Neil

Some others are in Australia (namely Os, and...), and me and a couple others are in the 'states.

Quite a spread. A pal of mine in Amsterdam started a website (for writers) in 2000 with UK -- LOUDLY -- in its title. It's been good to see it grow as a truly international group in spite of that seemingly localising tag. I guess the British Council of ex-Muslims can hope to attract a similar global membership. Certainly hope so. Best. Neil

The server is in Texas, of all places. I'm thinking of adding a world clock to the forum somewhere. I think it'd be handy and a nice touch.
