I loved the day at International conference. Found this news on the web:

Shari’a Law Called ‘Racist, Backward’ at Meeting of Ex-Muslims
    Monday, October 13, 2008
    By Kevin McCandless

London (CNSNews.com) – Sweeping legal challenges must be made against the creeping introduction of Islamic law (shari’a) in the United Kingdom, the head of a new body of former Muslims said here Friday.

Good stuff there. I agree wholeheartedly. Human rights such as equality of the sexes and no discrimination on the grounds of religion are completely incompatible with sharia. It has no place whatsoever in a modern democracy.

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

Charges of racism and bigotry can hardly be laid at the step of ex-Muslims, so I've been encouraged here to see that opposition to sharia courts (arbitration panels, if you like) is not common to my own pale-faced (bad-in-the-kitchen) folks. It seems to me that the non-religious of any 'ex-ilk' are equally against the intrusion of any religous courts -- guided by whichever ancient scriptures -- on the secular society of equals we all strive for. My own feeling is that the recognition of a religious court within a hard-won secular legal system  is a step backwards. I don't so much feel that such courts should not be encouraged as that they should be outlawed.

We are not here to fight religion. We are here to make religion irrelevant. NM

Yep, may as well bring back trial by ordeal whilst we're at it.

Religion is ignorance giftwrapped in lyricism.

Why the hell would Shari'a law be introduced in the UK anyway?  Roll Eyes

Because of the weak kneed, we-must-integrate-ethnic-minorities-at-any-price attitude of the current establishment. It's allowed political islam to dominate the debate, thus dis-enfranchising ordinary muslims who don't have any particular political complexion outside of the Uk.

If they want Islamic law, go to an Islamic country.

Sharia Law is not racist.  Islam draws no distinction between races.  All races and colours are equal under Islam, and both sexes are equally respected even though they are recognised as different.

    I'm with you so far

This is where you lose me. Seperate but equal eh? Like Jim Crow.

I actually disagree. "Islamic law," which is an euphemism for the Islamic system of dominance and tyranny, should be dismantled everywhere. It would be absurd to except Islamic cultures of moral responsibility because of their long tradition of oppression and discrimination. The old, vicious traditions of Islam have no validity today.

In other words, Muslims who want Islamic law should not be banished back to Islam. Instead, they must be stripped off their fanaticism. For this we need freedom of speech, not dhimmitude.

Stripped of their fanaatcism? But what if they use the freedom of speech argument to avoid that? It's their freedom of speech to be fanatic and believe what they believe. Even though it's all indoctrinated bullcrap.

Oh of course Shari'a Law treats women with respect. I forgot they treat them with so much respect that women in Saudi Arabia aren't allowed to drive. Women in Saudi Arabia can't go out unless accompanied by a male relative. That's a lot of respect yo, I wish England were like that.

Respected my arse. 4 women = 1 man. What are you thinking about?

Actually it's 1 man = 2 women. A man is permitted to marry up to 4 though, if that's what you mean.

Well, 2 or 4, it's still not 1 is it?
