Hi zeca., I was actually interested on the works of dr,  George Saliba  w.r.t  Islam ., I was under the impression that you may have already watched some his interviews and his books/publications..

George Saliba (Arabic: جورج صليبا) is a Lebanese-American Professor of Arabic and Islamic Science at the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies, Columbia University, New York, USA, where he has been since 1979. Saliba is currently the founding director of the Farouk Jabre Center for Arabic & Islamic Science & Philosophy and the Jabre-Khwarizmi Chair in the History Department.

    Quote
Saliba was one of the professors named in the 2004 Columbia Unbecoming controversy as allegedly being intimidating or unfair to students with pro-Israel views. A student of his, Lindsay Shrier, claimed that he told her that those with green eyes (like herself) are not racial "Semites", and have no valid national claim to Middle Eastern lands.[7] Saliba claims that this is a fabrication.[8] Saliba rejected the accusation and published a rebuttal in Columbia Spectator on 3 November 2004 to that effect.[8][7]

good man but some times he is careless on  what he says... but I must say here his books/publications gave wonderful contribution in educating the reader on Islam/Islamic rulers and development of science and technology of that time   .

His work is really interesting and one must give a careful consideration to his thoughts., But I still think  with all his tremendous work on the contribution of medieval Arab folks to Sciences  ( so-called Islamic Golden Age  ~786  to 1258) .,  he actually seems to be missing  the basic point in his work ., Off course I may be wrong ..

well let me read through his 50 page pdf publication on Arabic science in 16th century Europe(Guillaume Postel(1510-1581) and Arabic astronomy )

I did not know anything about that guy Guillaume Postel(1510-1581)

The Origin of Covid 19   Matt Ridley discusses with Jordan B Peterson

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEh5JyZC218

    Quote
Dr Jordan B Peterson and Matt Ridley go in depth to explore the Covid 19 outbreak, scrutinizing the lack of criticism, the inherent red flags widely accepted as benign, the possible motive for a multi-government cover up, and ultimately the demise of the scientific enlightenment as it bends to a more fearsome pandemic: totalitarianism.

Matt Ridley is a British writer, journalist, and public speaker. His books collectively have sold over a million copies, and have been translated into 31 languages. His books include The Red Queen, The Origins of Virtue, Genome, Nature via Nurture, Francis Crick, The Rational Optimist, The Evolution of Everything, and How Innovation Works. He is also frequently published in the Wall Street Journal, and in the Times (London), as a columnist. As a speaker, Ridley has seen over two million views for his TED talk, “When Ideas Have Sex.” Ridley focuses on the area of science for his writings, and held the role  of science editor at the Economist for nine years.

China’s crematoriums ‘packed’ as Covid cases soar says Dawn news

    Quote
Crematoriums across China are straining to deal with an influx of bodies as the country battles a wave of Covid cases that authorities have said is impossible to track.

Cases are soaring across China, with hospitals struggling and pharmacy shelves stripped bare in the wake of the government’s sudden decision to lift years of lockdowns, quarantines and mass testing.

The United States has warned the outbreak is now of concern to the rest of the world, given the potential for further mutations and the size of China’s economy.

From the country’s northeast to its southwest, crematorium workers told AFP they are struggling to keep up with a surge in deaths.

In Chongqing — a city of 30 million where authorities this week urged people with mild Covid symptoms to go to work — one worker told AFP their crematorium had run out of space to keep bodies.

“The number of bodies picked up in recent days is many times more than previously,” a staffer who did not give their name said.

“We are very busy, there is no more cold storage space for bodies,” they added. “We are not sure (if it’s related to Covid), you need to ask the leaders in charge.”

In the southern megapolis of Guangzhou, an employee at one crematorium in Zengcheng district told AFP they were cremating more than 30 bodies a day.

“We have bodies assigned to us from other districts. There’s no other option,” the employee said.

oh my goodness gracious ..these folks whose dead bodies have no space for their kith and keen to see their faces last time in their life ARE NOT RICH CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY MEMEBERS.....  Not sure where allah is where god is ??  I guess poor folks have no god/s

today from that famous journal, NATURE article in its publication at https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-04502-w   says  China COVID wave could kill one million people, models predict  with this picture

    Quote
Up to one million people in China could die from COVID-19 over the next few months, according to some of the first projections since the government lifted many of its strict ‘zero-COVID-19’ measures.

“There’s no doubt that China is in for a bad couple of months,” says James Wood, an infectious-disease modeller at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

However, two studies find that the number of deaths could be reduced by giving most of the population a fourth vaccine dose, combined with a high level of adherence to masking and reimposition of temporary restrictions on social interactions when death rates surge. These measures could also ease the burden on hospitals.

“It is never too late to flatten the curve,” says Xi Chen, an economist at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, who studies China’s public-health system.

Over the past month, the Chinese government has dismantled many of the restrictions it imposed to quash the virus’s spread. It has ended the mass lockdown of entire cities, lifted restrictions on travel within and between regions and allowed people infected with SARS-CoV-2 to isolate at home instead of in centralized facilities. Testing is now voluntary, and last week, the National Health Commission announced that it will stop reporting the number of infected people who have no symptoms................

Xi Chen, of  Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut is right .. the rulers of china must quickly import vaccines from other nations and vaccinate their folks  as soon as possible  and set up their own bio vaccine generation factories   to stop this pandemic in the nation
