London Tube train Explosion'., reports from passengers   says  BBC news

    Quote
An explosion on a Tube train in south-west London is being treated as terrorism, Scotland Yard has said. Passengers were injured following the blast at 08:20 BST (07:20 GMT) at Parsons Green District Line station.

Pictures show a white bucket on fire inside a supermarket bag, but do not appear to show extensive damage to the inside of the carriage.
The Metropolitan Police said "a number of people" had been injured and advised people to avoid the area.
It was too early to confirm the cause of the fire and the station has been cordoned off, the statement said.

Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted: "My thoughts are with those injured at Parsons Green and emergency services who are responding bravely to this terrorist incident."The government's emergency committee, COBRA, is meeting at 13:00 BST.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has appealed for calm, saying the city "will never be intimidated or defeated by terrorism".

Witnesses have described seeing at least one passenger with facial injuries. Others have spoken of "panic" as alarmed passengers left the train at Parsons Green station.

well that is the news...  but  Sadiq Khan  STOP TALKING NONSENSE and deal with it...  London was NOT intimidated by Nazis bombing it day in and day out .. So it will not get intimidated by fools exploding some fire crackers ..

Yes, platitude upon platitude. Serious questions need to be asked now, especially in the very likelihood that this is another jihadist attack. Like for example, why are extremists in the UK feeling so emboldened all of a sudden after several years of relative calm? Why now? We're constantly told we have amongst the finest security and intelligence services in the world, is this another lapse or are they indeed so out of their depth dealing with such a scale of the 'threat'?

Is the Mayor of London to be held responsible, or the government, the Muslim 'community' (in the likelihood of a jihadist attack) or the police/MI5? What the fuck is going on?

dear Ward_End .. everyone is responsible for such terror attacks   that includes me and you at some level ..

anyways the news says 22 injured in London Underground terror attack

    Quote
At least 22 people were injured in a bomb blast on a packed London Underground train on Friday.

Passengers were seen badly burnt and covered in blood after the “terrorist incident” which police said was caused by an “improvised explosive device”.

“At 8:20 this morning at Parsons Green station there was an explosion on a Tube train. We now assess that this was a detonation of an improvised explosive device,” police counter-terror chief Mark Rowley told reporters.

Witnesses reported seeing passengers with facial burns and hair coming off at Parsons Green station and seeing a fire or hearing an explosion on the train.

Eighteen were taken by ambulance and the other four made their own way to hospital, the NHS said, adding that the injured have been taken to four London clinics, the National Health Service said in a statement.

Prime Minister Theresa May's office said she would be chairing an emergency cabinet meeting later on Friday.

Armed police and sniffer dogs were seen on the train and around the station, which is set in a leafy suburb of southwest London popular with well-off commuters and filled with chic cafes.

“Terrorist incident declared at Parsons Green Underground Station,” police said in a statement.

“It is too early to confirm the cause of the fire, which will be subject to the investigation that is now underway by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command,” it said.

    well that is the news....

Of course. There was an attack on Muslims as well. I was flicking through what people are concerned about. Was probably poorly constructed given I was in a rush. My own concern was about why there's been a sudden spike in attacks recently.

Anyway it seems people are feeling emboldened right now. Scary times.

I think the spike in attacks this year as ISIS is on the retreat in Iraq & Syria is no coincidence.

Dear Ward_End link.,  All attacks like the above  one  in the name of Islam  are also ATTACKS ON MUSLIMS..

Muslims attacking Muslims in the name of their Islam is not new to Jihadi Muslim fools.,  My Islam is better than your Islam.,  Muslim "me" is better than Muslim "You"  is going on for the past 1400 years.,    but one must  realize  there are also other problems in such attacks/incidents .,   like this one   https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/may/03/devon-student-damon-smith-guilty-homemade-bomb-london-tube-underground  ..

Maybe it has to do with the current generation of muslims that have grown up and feel lost? Put it together with all kinds of things like how hard it is getting to find a fulfilling job, and how only academic jobs are seen as worthy of doing. Manual labour is slowly dying out. The housing crisis. Students debts. Racism feels like it is on the increase due to louder voices after Brexit. Empathy from people feels sparse. People stick with their own communities too much and don't integrate enough (they wont know how either). It feels like multiculturalism is forced without people understanding cultural differences. Technology means we spend less and less time outside so there's less mixing of different people and less socialisation. This also leads to higher rates of mental illnesses. People have a need to belong to a community but Western culture encourages independence, which comes with its own set of issues.

I don't think there's one thing that is responsible, but maybe a combination of factors. Just a theory.

i'm not up to date with the news but I heard he was a refugee. I wonder if refugees are given any therapy.....especially the young ones. Living/growing up in a war zone has to mess you up.  I hope they get some help dealing with things they've witnessed.

Came as a refugee, was took in by an elderly couple, responded to this generosity by trying to attack the country that opened it's arms to him.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Careful now.  He's only been arrested, not convicted.

A lot of people feel lost, I feel lost. But this idea of blowing up innocent people doesn't cut it as an excuse to outlay one's frustration towards the 'decadent West'. I grew up around ultra-conservative (and very boring) Muslims and they shared the same negative attitudes towards wider society but even these bearded old farts wouldn't encourage lifting one's hand against innocent civilians. Someone's said earlier in this thread that the decline of ISIS in the Middle Eastern is causing a backlash against the West here. I question how much off the perpetrators of these Islamist attacks were affiliated with ISIS if at all. ISIS claims everything anyway. I'd be surprised if the Las Vegas shooter/terrorist/whatever you want to call him for example was a 'soldier of the Islamic state'.
