If it wasn't for not wanting my mom to find out (Can't have her getting a heart attack), I wouldn't bother pretending to be Muslim anymore around people who expect me to still be one.

Also have you explored other faiths and/or spiritual beliefs Hassan? I get the impression some of those people included in 24 think it's either Islam or nothing, sort of like Pascal's wager between the Jansenism movement within Catholicism and irreligious atheism.

A friend took me to her church on several occasions and of course I'm aware of Christian beliefs and read the Bible (OT & NT) - but it just doesn't appeal to me - though I respect it. I also respect Hinduism - but again it just doesn't appeal to me. Also been to a Unitarian church and Quaker meetings.

My view is that all religions are man-made myths. I'm comfortable within the one I was brought up with. I have absolutely no incentive to move to another man-made myth where I don't have the same sense of comfort and familiarity.
