    And good music! The thought crossed my mind once that never in Jannah is music mentioned as a pleasure. What the hell would be the point of an eternity with no music to set the stage?

    I don’t know what I live for most days nor what I really believe in. But I have lived a month and half ago for Laura, for her quick to please and easy to please heart. I lived also for her narrow blue eyes, small monkeyish feet and fraudulently white thighs which, all things considered with a kiss, were like a remote, apocryphal beach upon which a kingdom of sun and sand might be built any moment.

    I live for the sake of living because the alternative seems a bit pointless.

    Not to mention the fact that now there are Star Wars movies coming out at least once every 1 and a half years electrifies me to no end. These experiences - music, movies, books, in short creativity, is what drives humanity and seeing how we as a species progress and produce innovate means with which to convey the meta-narratves of yesterday is something that I look forward too.

    That and good comedians. You need a good laugh. Also, I look forward to having a shitty day or week and then just sitting down to a gorgeous mouth-wateringly scrumptious bolognaise pizza or lasagne, a can of coke or lilt and a Kinder Bueno. Mmmmm. Then there's waiting for the summer to arrive and the holidays to hit so that you can binge watch Game of Thrones or Lost or Stargate Atlantis and then head of to the beach or play table tennis or hang out with friends and have fish and chips then lemon-top ice cream!

    Oh, or course, there's things like family and friends blah, blah, blah.  Wink ...that top of the 'living' experience depending upon the nature of your relationship.

    If you are by yourself and content with what you have then it's all good. Also, having your views challenged is something I want to live for. There's always the hope that one day - you just 'get it' and it falls in to place. There you go.

    So a while ago I thought I lived for 3 things two of which aren't legal in the state of Illinois.

    Well it's interesting, but as necessary as I felt they were for my happiness, I've realized when I didn't or couldn't have any given one of them, I could still make do and live in a very satisfying way. And I realized that what I enjoyed about some of those things were the component parts of them. What it is about them that made me feel a special way.

    There are always going to be things that have the components in them that make you feel a special way. Some things will combine these components in a way that will make you want to experience them over and over again, and these we will miss when they're not part of our lives. But still, there are aspects of so many different things that we could do which can give us satisfaction in our lives. So yeah, I'm rambling, but if I'm answering my question more directly once more I would say that I live for the components of unforgettable experiences, and experiencing more of those things that I will miss.

    Wow, you're right. Music is food for the soul, and the manifestation thereof. A Jannah without music is no Jannah at all.

    I live for experience. I live for energy. I live for clarity. I live for expansion. I live for connection. I live for simple pleasures, exhilarating adventures, and everything in between. Life is both a terrible and beautiful phenomenon, and to not fill your lungs with every aspect of it is to waste it.

    In less abstract terms, currently I live for studying, fitness, and drinking in the fresh spring sun and air. And cycling. And golf.

    Golf is uniquely both athletic and relaxing. Plus it's totally acceptable to have a beer while playing (and after...  sloshed ). And you can have a great game even if you're terrible at it, which I am! parrot

    This is a good answer. Particularly regarding not missing out on the moments that make up each day, week and year. What's the point of we don't really  experience what's right in front of us, before it's gone?

    As for me, currently living to pay off my debts (getting there, slowly), to be a good son to my truly amazing parents.

    This makes me sound a bit shallow  ohmy idiot2  I like to think I'm not. But it does make things easier for now. Basically I'm taking each day as it comes, enjoying travelling up and down this beautiful land and being paid for it (Midlands to Glasgow yesterday and back today, love it) , whilst keeping half an eye on the bigger picture.

    My family are my main focus at the moment.

    I'm sitting the the waiting room while my 16 yr old daughter has her second MRI scan - she has suspected MS resulting in lesions on her brain that caused her to lose part of her vision for 4 weeks (it is starting to come back now thankfully). We also had another family health scare not long before. This has made me painfully aware of how precious life is as you never know what is around the corner, so make the most of what time you have with your loved ones while you can.
