  • Apostasy programme for BBC North
     OP - June 17, 2015, 06:19 AM

    Hello
I'm new here. I've never been a Muslim but I'm making a BBC TV programme about the problems faced by apostates in Northern England. In the course of this so far I have encountered many people whose stories have been incredibly moving and I've been struck by their bravery but also their hurt and isolation. The purpose of the film is to give people a voice who've never had one and to speak about a taboo subject that needs a wider airing. I'm particularly interested in people from Yorkshire because of the geographical spread of the programme I work for. I have worked with and filmed Imtiaz Shams from Faith to Faithless who will vouch for me. Please contact me in complete confidence to discuss this with me.

You know how in some programmes you get silhouettes of people with pitch-shifted voices to preserve their anonymity? Is this possible for this programme? I would like to talk about it, but I haven't 'come out' to my family or the wider community.
