Muhammad is mentioned twice, but his alter-ego is mentioned all over the place, making sure Muhammad gets whatever he desires.

I do agree that the content in itself would make for a fascinating read, if it wasn't so poorly written. Tried a few years back, but just had to give up. Perhaps the tafsirs are more interesting, never really bothered to read those.
Like most muslims, I of course have read it many times in Arabic, a language I don't understand at all.
