    well moi., when  shootist  says "Drinking alcohol distorts reality" he is working with limited  data set  that may have come across in his work as Police officer.  As As purely Atheist pointed out   shootist is talking about   cases where one has to drink quite a bit to be intoxicated that indeed  impairs/distorts the reality .  And there  are plenty of such examples in real life specially in his profession.

    Thought I'd share my first experiences with alcohol. Canned stuff never appealed to me. The first drink I ever had was a vodka blueberry lemonade. Then I had a watermelon vodka drink in a big bowl-glass. Tasted like a jolly rancher.

    yes...    it does... but  in  that  ~150ml or so   liquid in that glass,   you should never add more than 15ml of Vodka ...

    I will tend to drink anything really. I used to hate red wine but then i developed a taste for it. If you are curious and want to try a drink then can I suggest the summer berries echo falls 9% wine. It tastes like juice to me. I would maybe try a weak or flavoured beer like desperado's. That has a tequila lime flavour without the tequila. You could also have half a pint of beer mixed with half a pint of sprite or 7up. When i worked at a restaurant bar there where quite a few women who would order that. Good luck and don't get too sloshed!

    I've almost finished a litre and a half of 40% (same strength as Jack Daniels) brandy. And so many fags.

    I've come to the realization that I like my alcohol see-through. Gin is by far my favorite alcoholic beverage to drink. Gin gimlet with lime mmm with a lot of gin of course. By the way, the darker the alcohol the worse hang-over. So it's a win win situation for me. I don't care much for wine, to be honest :/

    well  I too don't like that hyped up publication in that Lancet journal   but that word "hate" is very strong word to use anywhere.,  

    "I don't like drinking alcohol" is good enough..  and NO ONE DRINKS THAT ETHANOL which runs 90% Brazilian cars and transport industry  ..

    by the way you do have alcohol in your system and you do drink/eat some foods that have alcohol in them without you knowing it  Cheesy  and alcohol is one of the most important useful  chemicals of the global market

    I suppose that is true...it features in medicine etc.
