I was going to say that! =D.They need to have better quality, if those guys can win. This speaks as well for Malala as it does for the prize itself.

Malala Yousafzai, Kailash Satyarthi win Nobel Peace Prize

    Quote
Malala Yousafzai and Indian child rights activist, Kailash Satyarthi, have won the Nobel Peace Price

The Pakistani girls' education campaigner Malala Yousafzai -- who was also a favourite last year — was in the running along with Pope Francis for his defence of the poor, Edward Snowden, and a Japanese pacifist group.

Nobeliana.com, a website run by leading Norwegian Nobel historians ranked Malala -- who was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 — as their top candidate ahead of Snowden, for her fight for girls' right to an education around the world.

Malala is the second Pakistani to have won the Nobel Prize and after renowned scientist Abdus Salam won it for his contribution in the field of Physics in 1979.

My goodness that Malala wins Nobel peace prize burning across social media.... it is fun to read comments on that news..

    Quote
shah zad:   ..............the drama still continues

Hassan Durrani:  I do not know whether to applaud her or detest her, the only thing I can say is her father is a very good PR manager. This is not the real face of Pakistan, women don't get shot for getting education here, but the world thinks that only because of this girl.

naveed:  what a joke, next time we will have best movie nobel prize as well.

Sarmad:  I wonder what struggle she did to be even considered for a Nobel. According to Nobel Committee she is awarded Nobel Prize "for struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education". Can any Pakistani tell me isn't it what Abdul Sattar Edhi is doing successfully for more than five decades, with a much wider scope?

There I have to agree with  Sarmad.....  well

    Quote
Beena Siddiqui:  Too less for Malala... what she has done for US.

Sheraz:   Malala was silent when Israel bombarded poor Palestinian childern in their schools few days ago..

Rehman: Future PM being groomed by you know who..............

WellSaid:  Noble prize is not so noble anymore. Even Obama got it a few years back.

Lefty:  That timing of Nobel peace prizes......

Pakistanis bitch and complain so much.

Be proud a Pakistani is being recognised. But no, a large segment of Pakistan is so insecure that everything is an attack on them. Get some self-esteem ya gronks.

    They should recognise Edhi though.

I feel bad saying this because of what she endured and what good she has already done but do you think it is propoganda ? i mean i can understand her winning this award in a couple of decades time of charitable work but isnt this a bit early in her career to be winning such a prize ?

Cunts living in the west, talk about "western propaganda"
Why they dont accept the fact that Pakistan is a fucked up country?
They should go back to rural areas of Pakistan and see the reality for themselves.

I agree. Edhi has done a lot. But Im sure there are also many people out there doing the same thing.

    One word: Barack "Drone" Obama.

    Ok, that was three words.

At least Malala has a track record which can justify the prize.

Sad to say, but I think they should have given the prize to Japan's Article 9.

Malala is a heroic distraction. Pakistan will not change a jot from her getting the prize.

But had Article 9 won, Japan's vain, insecure Prime Minister might have been prevented from fucking with Japan's pacifistic constitution. Goodbye to all that.

Propaganda means is to give information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. People can split hairs but the view of most of the world is that girls should be able to go to school and shouldn't be shot for standing up for themselves, and most really do think she's incredibly brave and admire her. Those who think it's wrong for girls to go to school will surely have a problem with this.

naw, i'm just talking about western propoganda and how convenient this is for their war efforts, nothing to do with her amazing work, she deserves sainthood for that..

If there are political considerations behind it, which is quite likely to be part (not all) of the reasoning, I would think it was an attempt to stop India and Pakistan going to war again. Given what has been happening in Kashmir lately, awarding the peace prize to a Pakistani and an Indian, who have both been active for children's rights, is probably seen as something that might hopefully encourage peace. That's not a bad aim for a peace prize.

Short version: yes, it may partially be propaganda and related to a war, but not to any war being fought by Western powers.

WTF does that have to do with the Nobel Peace Prize? Are you wanting to promote peace and brotherhood amongst marsupials? Huh?

And yes, some of them are carnivorous. WTF do you expect in a developed ecosystem?

The Muslim world should get their own Muslim Peace Prizes so they won't get upset about random Norwegians handing out prizes to them.

“First of all I’d like to thank The Struggle and the IMT for giving me a chance to speak last year at their Summer Marxist School in Swat and also for introducing me to Marxism and Socialism. I just want to say that in terms of education, as well as other problems in Pakistan, it is high time that we did something to tackle them ourselves. It’s important to take the initiative. We cannot wait around for any one else to come and do it. Why are we waiting for someone else to come and fix things? Why aren’t we doing it ourselves?

“I would like to send my heartfelt greetings to the congress. I am convinced Socialism is the only answer and I urge all comrades to take this struggle to a victorious conclusion. Only this will free us from the chains of bigotry and exploitation.” (letter to IMT - International Marxist Tendency - in Swat, Pakistan)

(Malala at the IMT congress in Swat the year before)

You tell them, comrade Malala 001_wub

Mehdi Hassan congratulated Malala using that quote. Some kind of congratulation. Also read the comments. His followers clearly love her Roll Eyes
