Years ago my friends parents sent him to live in Pakistan cos he fucked up. We used to speak whilst he was on the way to pick up drugs from Peshawar.

I've watched it years ago and I simply refuse to even entertain the idea of ever watching it again. It's too much for my poor heart.

    Welcome to the NHK

This stupid anime has made me more miserable than before.
Anyway, the first is half is not so good as the second half. The main charachter is an idiot, but quite relatable.

    7/10

    Fuck. No more anime now.

The original webtoon manhua Lookism is simply amazing. I was a little surprised when I found the author is some kind of young Korean celebrity. I really recommend it. It is a perfect balance between humour, and deeper issues like societal hierarchy, bullying, and how we tend to judge people on a mainly superficial level. But also the individual's responsibility to make something out of life, even though life is unfair and we aren't all born with the same opportunities. I like the development of the main character, and how he constantly questions his own actions and the changes (or "non-changes") he goes through. My latest favourite moment was the "Pavlov's dog" chapters. It really made me think about a lot of things...

I really recommend it. I read my manga online (unless it's one of my favourite titles that has been licensed. I'm an idiot who wastes money on comics), and the webtoon is available on most sites.

No. You are clever and beloved by Quod.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

I just started Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I'm a bit nervous, as it's rather old and was created before I was born but it has a 9.1 star rating on IMDB so I'm going for it Smiley

Watch "My Conquest is a Sea of Stars" before you start the anime series. Also "Overture to a New War" can serve as a substitute to the first 2 episodes. You'll totally love it!  Afro

Overture to a New War is just the first two episodes with nicer art. You can watch the My Conquest is a Sea of Stars at any time, it just gives background to the characters and the conflict. I watched it at the beginning.  Smiley

How are you liking it so far?

I'm on episode 9. Already enjoying it but trying to get used to the art. I had a tiny peak at a later episode (managed to avoid any spoilers) and the difference is noticeable.

If any of you decide to watch the classic that is Legend of the Galactic Heroes, you're in for a treat. But be warned: your standards may rise to the point that every other anime that you watch after it will seem shit.

Although I have watched some good anime since then, so it's not impossible, but the random riff raff will suddenly seem less appealing, lol.
