    Does anyone know if ISIS actually officially quote scriptural evidence to justify their actions. Which verses in the Quran do they use if any, or is it all Hadith?

    It doesn't matter to them if it's not all in the quran. They are sunnis. They consider the sunnah to be divinely inspired.

    Gladly a set of US troops and aid workers landed on Sinjar mountain to check the situation and said that things were not as bad as they thought.

    The US and the UK has said they will 'maintain a military presence in N Iraq for the foreseeable future.

    When I was a muslim I was not into sects. I always just believed that the quran and hadiths and seerah should be followed and nothing much beyond that.

Obama said that the United States would still carry out air strikes along with stepping up military assistance to Iraqi government and Kurdish forces battling the IS fighters.

     "We will continue air strikes to protect our people and facilities in Iraq," said Obama, who had cited the risk to the US consulate in Arbil as a reason for the military intervention. (AFP)
