    there have been a number of exposes published on him today, all comprehensive. I have a feeling his career in the media may be over.

    I always thought there was something disingenuous about him especially when I saw him in that Tommy Robinson leaving EDL programme. I would have never guessed he was an outright charlatan but that's probably because I didn't know enough about him apart from his tv appearances.

    It's mighty impressive how he seems to have created a media career for himself purely through self-promotion and bullshitting on twitter.

    Wow, checked back on this today. Ansar's reaction thus far is a great example of what not to do in public image damage control.

    While he's doing...whatever it is that he is doing on twitter, his friends in high places are unable to even give him the benefit of the doubt, and big names are turning on him.

    It's all on his twitter. He's more or less ignoring the whole ordeal, or vaguely alluding to it via youtube videos.

    Just seen a comment from this little gem. http://www.iaindale.com/posts/2014/05/15/the-truth-about-mo-ansar-2-0

     @truthwillflourish 2 days ago

    I listen to Iain Dale on LBC almost every day hes on. But I was totally shocked to see him self assassinating Mo Ansar. it was just not the Iain i know about.Now i dont know about Mo, but whats happening to that guy now, led by the Spectator ''mob'' is surely another new trend in this country which seems from the outset its designed to pick on Muslim speakers and totally set them out of the window. Cant wait to see who is next!

    I wonder if it's actually the man himself?

    From what I saw when I clicked through some of the comments on twitter before, there was some talk about a handful of new twitter users suspected to be sock puppets due to their passionate defense of Ansar. But who knows, the internet is a weird place. Still, I think it's safe to say that Ansar is going to have fewer options regarding his television appearances from now on.

    Meh. Mo's approach of doing his best to undermine his opponents only worked when they weren't e-establishment figures of some sort (or friends of same).

    Taking on Iain Dale was misguided to say the least, because to take on Dale is to take on his small cohort of rabid fans (who could teach Mo something about vindictiveness). Taking down the twitter account of a mate of David Allen Green was a way of bringing our favourite 'lawyer'/'legal advocate'/etc to the attentions of rather a visible (and very real) lawyer. And so it goes.

    So, I don't get it. Are people only now realizing that Mo Ansar is a dishonest, side stepping, self-promoting camera addict with no real qualifications to be a spokesperson for anything other than the things he says to keep the media attention coming? That was painfully obvious to me the first time I ever heard the guy speak.  Huh?

     Grin He comes across as the perfect face of islam. Friendly, smiling, inclusive, non-discriminating, he's the perfect muslim for the non muslim to see and think "Ah, what a nice bloke. Islam is really just like christianity. Nothing to be concerned about"

    Yeah, a lot of people noticed before, but they were easily dismissed by Ansar as Islamophobic trolls. He's still trying to treat his critics as such by not even dignifying the scandal with an answer, but, as Toor said, it isn't working this time around, as some big names and influential people are dismissing him as a fraud, and now it seems like it's spread out of Ansar's control.

    I get that that's how he acts, but I figured the people allowing him air time must have known he was full of shit. I don't get how people are acting surprised that the oaf was a fraud. He reeks of dishonesty. Did something in particular happen?

    @HM
    Yes, people realised that Mo was bullshitting about pretty much everything.
    For instance, the following claims are unfounded:

    Here are the jobs Ansar claims he has held down in the last fifteen years, many of them simultaneously.

    Lawyer
    Lecturer
    Banker
    Imam
    Marriage counsellor
    Visiting lecturer

    I guess people finally got sick of his appeals to (false) authority and decided to expose him.

    Well, what happened specifically as far as I can tell is that he finally provoked the ire of people that he shouldn't have messed with, and some reputable and influential individuals compiled a truckload of evidence against him and made comprehensive articles that came out at once.

    I see. He got too big for his own head and started believing his own lies. Delusions of invincibility followed until he was slammed back to earth by people who knew better. Classic story.
