I was browsing the internet, looking for experiences of ex-Muslims and found this interesting blog post.

This woman's mum and stepdad converted into strict Islam when she was a teenager and she had to follow along.  She talks about her experiences with sexism and the demands to hide her body that came with it.  I'm in a similar situation with my parents (Who became more strict over the past few years) and all the expectations of modesty and I find it amazing just how much I can relate to her.  There area few other posts from her on that blog relating to the subject too.  It's a really good read.

    Very powerful read.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

A couple more posts on the subject here and here.  Definitely worth a read.
