The audiobook is out after..two years?
Link. Ha. Anyway. I wanted to share some dialogue:
[..]I remembered how books and comics played a huge role in my most important personal philosophical decisions which can be very life changing. It's also tough growing up multi-racial and with a dual citizenship. It's still a liability to me even now with the government mainly due to the second country I belong to. People seem to have an instinctual need to label you as the race they feel is, or should be, most prevalent in you. Which also means that they completely ignore or belittle the other races in your bloodline and where/how you were raised. That makes it harder to find godless allies in the West. Even more so while standing your ground against institutional and social racism and prejudice at the risk of being called a sympathizer or being labeled a thing you worked so hard to leave behind.
People like me need to know that they are not alone and that even the most devout believer can learn to see beyond even the best and oldest brainwashing techniques in the world. We are ex-muslims, atheists/agnostics/deists, from all over the world born with the same disease and prosecuted for it. I want the book to open up dialogue about these issues with humility and compassion. That is the reason why I gave facts only, as I knew them, and described events as dry as possible with as little emotive language as I could manage. I wanted the emotion to be revealed within the poetry and creative writing passages included in the book between chapters. This way people could come to their own conclusions about my life after reading the entirety of my works with minimal interference from me.[..]
