I'll keep this short and sweet. I've been raised a Muslim. But recently I have begun to take a critical look at the religion I was raised in. There just doesn't seem to be sufficient evidence to support the notion that Quran is indeed the word of God. What I am interested to know is what categorically disproves Islam, if anything. I've tried searching Youtube videos and the primary issue I have is that the analysis of Islam and the Quran is from an inherently biased perspective, where the author (deliberately?) misinterprets the verses and has an obvious anti-Islam/Muslim [difficult to separate the two at times] agenda. Please point me to sources which offer an analysis of Islam/Quran which don't quite offer the same underlying biases.

I'm simply looking for the truth.

Welcome Albert!  parrot I wouldn't suggest watching videos because many of them are indeed biased. The best thing I normally due is to translate verses literally and see if they make sense to reality or not, and then find evidence from good sources to prove it as right or wrong.

Well it depends what you're looking for. If it's scientific miracles, The Rationaliser. If it's god is just, Christopher Hitchens. If it's all the things islam has given the world, Kingslingor. If it's origin of man as opposed to the quranic claims, Richard Dawkins, or any number of biologists.

What exactly are you looking for?

Also, welcome. A parrot for you sir parrot

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

If it's the truth your after, don't bother, there are too many notions about what the "truth" is in this world. I'd start by checking the facts, failing that you've got logical deduction. Remember some see the glass as being half full, others half empty, try just seeing it as half way and you might start getting some where.  Hope you like it here. parrot bunny
