Here is my personalized haraam bucket list
My haraam bucket list
-
Befriend people based on their personality. I don't have to worry about finding cool muslim guys to hang out with. I can just open myself up to everyone and let relationships develop naturally. It feels so liberating to not be restricting your interaction to a certain group of people. There are alot of awesome and smart people out there that I want to befriend and have them enrich my life with their different perspectives.
-
Date people. I want to get to know people and try to explore and develop this aspect of my personality. No need to worry about getting married at a certain age. I can just wait for the right person to come into my life and I can marry my soul-mate not some girl who my mom picked out from a "potential brides list" at the local mosque.
-
Experiment with my Sexuality. I want to try to have a sexual experience with another man. (Kissing or maybe something more). Because hey I only have one life in this awesome universe so why not spend it having as many new experiences as I can.
-
Build my musical library. There are sooo many more genres of music out there that I wasn't even aware of. When I first started listening to music I only listened to those meaningless songs they play in clubs and meaningless gangsta rap. I started listening to rock as well as less well known rap artists with actual meaning in their songs.
-
Play a musical instrument. I wasn't particularly good at playing instruments in music class in elementary school but liked the challenge of learning to play a tune or song on it and it felt good to master even a simple song.
I plan to get a guitar when I move out. It seems like a really good hobby
-
Get a dog. I always liked animals and knew I wanted to get a dog and not a cat because you can actually have a relationship with a dog. I really want to experience that man-canine connection. They are called man's best friend for a reason so I want to experience that cross species friendship.
-
Travel and experience the many varieties of food out there. No need to worry about checking for halal ingredients. I can just go out to any restaurant I want and have my pick of the menu. I can eat and experience food from even more cultures because I am no longer limited to arab/south asian cuisine. Why should I look for the rare halal Japanese and Italian restaurants when I could just be going to the ones with the best quality food.
