I really hope this was meant as tongue in cheek humour.

no ?   : )  did i sound rude.. ?  im not homophobic, my uncle is gay and ive been surrounded by his friends my whole life, theyre the most fun friends to have..  it was just the bi thing i didnt understand how you can like a girl one week the next a guy..  i have met some amazing women in the past who i admire and found their personality attractive (not sexually) but i am not inclined that way either..
I guess if youre not harming anyone you can do what you please..

Bisexuality isn't switching between heterosexuality and homosexuality, liking the same sex this week and switching the next week. Someone who is bisexual is always bisexual. It genuinely surprises me you'd find it immoral, and the what's morality without religion comment is also surprising to me. You don't think you should be moral is you're not religious?

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Get a dog. They are called man's best friend for a reason.

Have a relationship with this awesome species that islam has needlessly declared "haraam".

I've never petted a dog before...
Not to start a huge discussion but is there any ex-Muslims who are still afraid of dogs? A lot of Muslims are, since we've been raised to avoid dogs. I use to be one of those Muslims who would rather run across the road and face a traffic collision than to walk past a dog. I'm not too afraid of dogs anymore but there is still a little fear, especially facing huge ass dogs.

Naw i dont have that view now, i said i had before thought it was immoral, still i am not sure what i think about it really, ive been a muslim for so long that i'm still adjusting to new ways of thinking i guess so : ) ..  but isnt bisexuality a choice, not a condition, cant compare it to being gay or straight, those are natural inclinations..

There were some studies done in holland a few years back to determine our sexuality, apparently every single woman is bisexual..

The morality without religion remark, i was just questioning how we determine what is moral as an athiest.. Just thinking aloud..

It's tough, but I think the short answer is that you try to always support what does the most good and protects human rights.

No. There's no bi curiosity with me, I've never had any feelings that way at all. I can see if a man is attractive but I've never had any inklings.

I honestly had never heard of bi being a natural inclination lol duuh i just been reading about it online from those who are.. I presumed it was a choice..  im a bit slowww : /    but yep according to that study i saw on tv, they got groups of people and wired them up, sat them in front of many types of porn movies and measured their arousal, the results were that all men fell into different catagories, they were either gay, straight or bi (i forgot the bi group) the gays and straight men were not aroused by any other type of porn other than their own, but all women were aroused by everything lol.. Very interesting really..

Well, why wouldn't it be a natural inclination? I mean, why would you accept a man being attracted to other men as natural, but a man being attracted to both genders as a choice? Doesn't quite make sense, Suki. Either your sexuality is always a choice, or it isn't.

Same goes for bisexuality. Like Quod said, it's not like you're jumping back and forth. Just that both are on the table for you. I'm not going to wake up one day next to my husband and think, "Oh, gross, no thank you. I'm only into girls right now."  Wink

Well let's take a look at islamic morality. Dogs were bred to be our companions. Dogs are mans best friend. Angles don't like dogs. Abraham was going to murder his son Isaac. On the way to murder his son, three devils tried to stop him.

    Makes you think, doesn't it.

I can think of a few women I've known that I can safely say are 100% straight. Cheesy

As for the choice thing, no, it's not a choice. You discover who you're attracted to, you don't choose it. As for being moral without god, it's an old question. Most people aren't sociopaths. Most people aren't psychopaths. The basis of morality is empathy, in my opinion. Did you read that post I gave to Seeker? I think I sum it up quite well.

I suppose she wanted more company in her car in the Gay Pride Parade? Double dating? Perhaps she feared for my safety in the company of straight men? Mini Me complex?

I don't know. You would think a parent wouldn't care what their child's orientation was. It could be that the combat boots and fights of my childhood led to some expectations on her part.

Here is my personalized haraam bucket list  grin12

    My haraam bucket list

    - Befriend people based on their personality. I don't have to worry about finding cool muslim guys to hang out with. I can just open myself up to everyone and let relationships develop naturally. It feels so liberating to not be restricting your interaction to a certain group of people. There are alot of awesome and smart people out there that I want to befriend and have them enrich my life with their different perspectives.

    - Date people. I want to get to know people and try to explore and develop this aspect of my personality. No need to worry about getting married at a certain age. I can just wait for the right person to come into my life and I can marry my soul-mate not some girl who my mom picked out from a "potential brides list" at the local  mosque.

    - Experiment with my Sexuality. I want to try to have a sexual experience with another man. (Kissing or maybe something more). Because hey I only have one life in this awesome universe so why not spend it having as many new experiences as I can.

-Build my musical library. There are sooo many more genres of music out there that I wasn't even aware of. When I first started listening to music I only listened to those meaningless songs they play in clubs and meaningless gangsta rap. I started listening to rock as well as less well known rap artists with actual meaning in their songs.

-Play a musical instrument. I wasn't particularly good at playing instruments in music class in elementary school but liked the challenge of learning to play a tune or song on it and it felt good to master even a simple song.
I plan to get a guitar when I move out. It seems like a really good hobby

    - Get a dog. I always liked animals and knew I wanted to get a dog and not a cat because you can actually have a relationship with a dog. I really want to experience that man-canine connection. They are called man's best friend for a reason so I want to experience that cross species friendship.

    - Travel and experience the many varieties of food out there. No need to worry about checking for halal ingredients. I can just go out to any restaurant I want and have my pick of the menu. I can eat and experience food from even more cultures because I am no longer limited to arab/south asian cuisine. Why should I look for the rare halal Japanese and Italian restaurants when I could just be going to the ones with the best quality food.

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

If it was a choice I'd choose a man over a woman. Understanding men is much easier to me. Maybe it's because of the degree of segregation in islam between genders? I dunno.

I really don't get this "understanding men/women" discussion. People are individuals, understanding each other will always be difficult because you are trying to understand someone who isn't you Smiley If you exoticise an entire sex, perhaps the preconceived notions someone has of the group "women" and "men" is what stands in the way of trying to understand each other?
