    the current projections point to a very narrow defeat for trump. so narrow that biden may struggle to claim a mandate to rule. may point to election reruns in some or all states next year - after court cases and civil unrest.

    Fuck the coverage in my country of this American election has been nauseating. It seems like we sent an armada of reporters each from all of our broadcasters over there. Yeah we get, you all binge watched the West Wing when you were younger and you're a bunch of wannabe Americans. A terror attack could happen in the middle of London and I bet we'd still prioritise what some redneck in the corner of Wisconsin thinks about Biden.

    But he's now projected to be the next US President according to CNN. Whatever.

    He called upon Muslims in America to join him in rooting out such "poison" through their votes.

    He is set to be sworn in on January 20, 2021.

    I'm good thanks yeezevee, and happy new year. Just before the end of last year I spent time with my family. I had my brother snooping on my interwebs and he managed to find some critical comments made by me on Islam and fundamentalist Muslims. He then accused me in front of my parents of being a 'Jew' and a 'Zionist' and of course 'hating Muslims'. You know, you hear this sort of frothing from fundamentalists online as we often do, but this still managed to shake me nonetheless. I don't mind being outed as a 'kaafir', but the paranoid accusation of being an insidious agent of Jewish Zionism (he used Jews and Zionist in the same sentence, so he's oblivious to his own racism given that you can be one without the other) just smacked me in the face. All the worst negative stereotypes of a Pakistani Muslim came frothing out (and he did seem to show a hint of a lack of any sort of belonging to the country he's lived in since birth, unlike I who was born back 'home' given that also mocked my 'British accent'). So he aroused and woke up the usual bigotry from my dad who then abused me with the most vile sexual language. And I've effectively been disowned lol. But I'm OK, just reading something on Aristotle right now.

    As for Americans, they'll be fine as long as the institutions of their nation stay strong. The rule of law, separation of church and state, free speech are things that should temper any dumb masses. I've noticed in my country how there's always this fawning over American politics and culture and at the same time there's  this snobbery towards the 'yanks', especially over their voting records. As if the rest of the world are beyond voting in unscrupulous politicians. . Personally I've always given them a bit more credit than they're due.

    My brother didn't take it well when I said that our parents came from an obscure village in some dishevelled part of Pakistan (I was implying that we should be grateful to live an open, tolerant society. Maybe my brother would otherwise would love to havr the same arranged marriage my parents have that has bought so much joy upon us with the constant fighting...). When you put ethnic pride close to your heart, you're putting yourself at risk for defending all sorts of dumb things.

    whether from america or kashmir, rednecks/hillbillies/deplorables are not reluctant to resort to violence. we can understand the reasons and try to explain why it is wrong - but that won't change the risk of being attacked.

    it's a good idea to have an escape plan/funds if you don't fancy standing your ground. small verbal aggressions by family have to be met by vocal resistance to set everyone's expectations when the real shit hits the fan. better to be deemed a belligerent outcast rather than a meek target to beat into compliance.

    Most hillbillies can be confined within local jurisdictions of law enforcement. I'm worried about that kind of frothing, paranoid anti-semitic (and it isn't anti-Zionism when you froth about Jews in the same sentence as Zionism) conspiracy theories that infects parts of many Muslim communities. I can handle general hillbilly ramblings of my family but what I'm talking about is a microcosm of the Jewish conspiracy. It's funny that I sat with my brother years ago to watch Four Lions, about a bunch of British jihadism about to commit an atrocity. In one scene the white convert in it rambles about a car he struggles to start, blaming on the parts being 'Jewish'. Oh the irony.

    But if he wants to become an infamous statistic or news headline, if he wants to become an action man, so be it. I can't control what he does. But I do hope that when the shrapnel hits him in whatever violent scenario he finds himself in, it won't be an instant demise and hopefully it will leave him enough life to contemplate his foolishness. If that's the glorious path he wants to go down.
