How prepared are clerics to answer doubts?

So with the age of the internet, we all know religion is in big trouble. With infinite information and many people openly challenging many teachings that would often go unquestioned. Especially when it comes to the sciences and social evolution taking place around the world. So how prepared are clerics to answer the tough questions presented before them brought by the youth. Are clerics prepared to deal with questions about the sciences and social issues or are they solely trained in religious texts.
I'm sure some of you have probably had Imams or someone brought before you to give you divine intervention to return to Islam and answer all of your doubts. Problem being you've already been exposed to so many philosophical thoughts, science, debunking videos and libraries of opposing material openly challenging Islam. And I can safely assume they did not sway you because you are still an ex-Muslim. So how well do you think Imams fair against this information and do they even care to investigate it themselves. Any stories to share?
