    So as many of you noticed, for the last 8-10 hours, the forum was inaccessible. This was because our host server was down and apparently had to be repaired. I'm not sure why it took so long, but these things happen. Welcome back CEMB Smiley

    The people running the server are restoring old backups so yeah it's making the site lose posts seemingly at random. This is very disturbing and unprofessional and we are going to be making changes to how this site is set up to ensure these kinds of problems do not happen again.

    They're not "old" backups and they aren;t dropping posts at random. They're just backups from half an hour or whatever back and that means they drop posts made since that time.

    Ok, we're back up for now. I have checked the site that was causing the problem and they are still not working properly. This means the host may decide to put us all up the creek again. We'll just have to wait and see. Roll Eyes

    Should be ok. I was talking to the host's syadmin. He said the repair run had worked, so I checked out TalkRational in some detail (login, posts, user cp, etc) and it's all working now. Since it was that site that was screwing everything I'd say we're in the clear (finally).
