I'd appreciate some advice. A Peace event is being organised in Bath and, as part of it, we'd like to raise money for an organisation that would work to ease the suffering of those caught up in the current violence (and ongoing misery) in Gaza. Could you please give some suggestions?

Having trawled through your overwhelming response, we went for Save the Children's Gaza Appeal (www.savethechildren.org/gaza) and Medical Aid for Palestinians (http://www.map-uk.org/). If you've got a spare few bob, they could no doubt do with it. If, by any chance, you're in Bath this Friday...come join us here: https://www.facebook.com/events/141322946015521/#!/events/141322946015521/

Tongue I tried to think of something Chris, my brain was blank and all I could think of was selling home-made food sort of event to raise money...but seemed a bit silly in my head so I didn't reply ._.

From what I understand from reading comments for Gazans elsewhere, what they really need are open borders and a less thuggish government inside Gaza. As far as basic necessities go, they don't seem to be doing too badly. It's the crippling of the economy, and the brutality of Hamas and the other Islamist groups, that are the main problems.
