    Measuring more than 7ft long and 10ft wide, the text's 218 pages are decorated in 30 different calligraphy designs and took almost five years to finish.

    I actually like this sort of thing. Artsy-fartsy Muslims are better than boom-boom Muslims. Plus, I'm a huge Arabic calligraphy geek.

    So they make a massive Qu'ran, can Muslims get any more fucking pathetic? This is a country where 90% of the population are illiterate don't have clean drinking water, and live on less then 1$ a day. What do they decide to spend the national Afghan budget on? Making a fucking big ass Qu'ran. I thought Muslim Arabs were stupid but, Muslim Pushtoons are really pushing it to be the number one idiots of the Muslim world.

    big deal..  Those fools should have spent some money to build some 70 feet high Quran.. and replace all verses from that 114 chapters. as Allah says

    I tell you what it reminds me of. One of those ugly crappy internet websites with garish colours that some random person with no eye for design threw together.

    Reminds me of the colossal Buddha statutes all over Asia (I think China recently built the biggest one in the world). It would be truely hilarious if Islamic countries start competiing to build the biggest quran!

    One of the reasons i started questioning xianity to begin with was
    the cathedral in Klon germany.  To photograph it in its entirety, you have
    to be a mile away.  I stood in awe of all the carvings, and ornate stonework.

    That was in 1986, and I started thinking.  Imagine all the hungry people
    that could have been fed with the money and labor used to build this
    cathedral. 

    When I got back to the states a year later, I started looking at all the

    Its massive and would be a great way to execute murtads, munafiqeens, kaffirs and women, just gather a crowd and drop that gigantic Quran on their heads. Lift it up with a crane, do a takbir, drop, splat, voila.
