Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said she was relieved that “not a single American died" in the tragic shooting at a Wisconsin Sikh temple, Twitchy reported Monday.

"Unbelievable," tweeted Ana Luiza Farias.

"What a cruel, evil thing to say!" another tweeted.

"This saddens & disgusts me," said another.

"Michele Bachman is one ignorant broad (sic)," another tweeted, while suggesting Bachmann be slapped.

Others called Bachmann stupid, while at least one compared her to Sarah Palin.

"To be fair, The Onion’s shtick is to appear as much like a mainstream newspaper as possible," the Twitchy staff wrote, posting a video of Matt Damon, who fell for a parody of Sarah Palin.

Of course, Bachmann never made the statement, but that didn't matter to some who believed the parody.

On Monday, we reported that while authorities named 40-year-old Wade Michael Page as the shooter, liberals on Twitter blamed the Minnesota Republican because she raised questions about the Muslim Brotherhood.

"Michele Bachmann must be so proud of her anti-Muslim sermons. Finally, someone took her message seriously in Wisconsin this morning," one liberal wrote.

For liberals, "a shooting is never the fault of the actual criminal," the Twitchy staff wrote Sunday.

"Instead, it is promptly blamed on conservatives like Michele Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, and others."

"OK, here we go again. I see stupid people," one commenter wrote at Twitchy.

So what did the lady say any way?? ... we need more information...
