Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking and Arthur C. Clarke - God, The Universe and Everything Else (1988)

Arthur C. Clarke was a great guy
    Quote
Sir Arthur Charles Clarke, CBE, FRAS, Sri Lankabhimanya, (16 December 1917 – 19 March 2008) was a British science fiction author, inventor, and futurist, famous for his short stories and novels, among them 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), and as a host and commentator in the British television series Mysterious World. For many years, Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and Clarke were known as the "Big Three" of science fiction.

Clarke served in the Royal Air Force as a radar instructor and technician from 1941–1946. He proposed a satellite communication system in 1945 which won him the Franklin Institute Stuart Ballantine Gold Medal in 1963.  He was the chairman of the British Interplanetary Society from 1947–1950 and again in 1953.

Clarke emigrated to Sri Lanka in 1956  largely to pursue his interest in scuba diving;  that year, he discovered the underwater ruins of the ancient Koneswaram temple in Trincomalee. He lived in Sri Lanka until his death. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998, and was awarded Sri Lanka's highest civil honour, Sri Lankabhimanya, in 2005.

The opening sequence of Cosmos makes me happy to be alive. I never get bored of watching it.

Two more years to wait for the next series. I'm optimistic that Ann Druyan will bring us something really special. Neil deGrasse Tyson has big boots to fill, but he has big feet of his own.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Sagan, Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens (PBUH) - they are kinda like modern day prophets- prophets of atheism. Is atheism becoming like some sort of mass cult? If so I don't want in as I like to stick two fingers up at anything and everyone. Question everything! Scrutinize everything! A truly open mind never completely closes his/her mind to any possibility- even to the God hypothesis.

When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes, for falsehood by its nature is bound to perish.

Nah.. Carl Sagan has far better quotes.,     that "quote" is only great when people  have brains  and use it. He didn't know that there are/were baboons in human shape walking on this earth disguising as human beings

I want these baboons open their mind so their brains will  fall out.,   We can fill their skulls with 21st century logic/rationality connected with strong  neural networks

And fools talk about silly passer by statements that are there in so-called religious books written 1000s of years back as the most advanced astrophysics one can ever discover..and they spend reading and reading  these silly books repeatedly to brain wash themselves and  brain wash others until their brain cells drain out..

    Carl Sagan's last interview

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8HEwO-2L4w

    Quote
Carl Edward Sagan (/ˈseɪɡən/; November 9, 1934 – December 20, 1996) was an American astronomer, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, science popularizer, and science communicator in astronomy and other natural sciences. His contributions were central to the discovery of the high surface temperatures of Venus. However, he is best known for his contributions to the scientific research of extraterrestrial life, including experimental demonstration of the production of amino acids from basic chemicals by radiation. Sagan assembled the first physical messages that were sent into space: the Pioneer plaque and the Voyager Golden Record, universal messages that could potentially be understood by any extraterrestrial intelligence that might find them.  He published more than 600 scientific papers[2] and articles and was author, co-author or editor of more than 20 books
