  • Message From A Former Saudi Arabian Muslim
     OP - July 26, 2012, 09:04 PM

    Greetings,

    I am a former Muslim.

More specifically, I grew up pretending to be a Muslim in Saudi Arabia where the penalty for Apostasy is death by decapitation. Walking, talking, and appearing to agree with things I have always questioned and doubted comprised the majority of my youth.

I feel burdened with a personal obligation towards my future generation to inform them about the dangers of their religion. I also happen to be in a unique position, since I know exactly how my brethren think, and how their arguments supporting Islam have their foundations in nothing more than wavering emotion and whim.

I can personally attest to the fact that only ideologies like Islam can force good people to do heinous things.

With little to no resources at all, I have decided to put my life on the line by producing a pro-discussion, pro-rational Anti-Islamic video series all on my own.

I am not allowed to post links yet, as I have to establish a bit of a reputation first before I do.

However, if you wish to see the first video in this series, feel free to go youtube and search for the following:

    "Dear Muslims Of The World"

The video will be the very first search result.

As you can see, I have not taken the outright inflammatory route from the onset. Doing so may cause the target viewer to immediately raise their defenses, and maybe skip viewing the rest of the video altogether.

An honest, brutal critique would be helpful.

Also, if it is not in any violation of your time, I would greatly appreciate it if you would share the message and spread it around.

    Thank you all.

    - A

    Hello apostasin

To be honest mate the voice over sounds quite portentous and trying too hard.

Might be better if it was pulled down a gear if you like.

Welcome, Apostasin. As someone mentioned in the comment, many Muslims don't speak English. Did you consider adding an Arabic version ?
I can help you with some French subtitles, but I don't think French will reach anyone that doesn't already understand either Arabic or English.

Thank you so much for taking the time!

I have received that same complaint from many people.

I will do everything I can to afford better audio recording and editing equipment for subsequent videos. Until then, my trusty cellphone will have to do Smiley

Your critique and insight are invaluable, and for that you have my gratitude.

Well that was depressing. (But most likely true.)

Welcome Apostasin, good work, I enjoyed your video but as your probably already tired of hearing, the voice is a little too mellowdramatic maybe if you toned it down slightly and talked in your normal voice it might sound better, at least try it out and see what the feedback is like on it, sorry you did ask for brutally honest feedback. Very passionate though, it's clear you feel strongly about the whole thing, I can understand you dont want to loose that quality in it, anyway it's up to you, all the best with it and keep fighting the good fight.
