I really don't understand why Dawkins has become the fall guy for "militant atheism". In anything I've seen him in, he's been well-spoken, humble, polite, patient, respectful, but assertive when needed, when he's making a point or explaining why an opponent is mistaken. Far more patient than I could be in the discussions he takes part in. And his broader body of work is fantastic, amongst the best written work on evolutionary science you can find.

Its two things, he is high profile, and he doesn't suffer fools gladly. He doesn't make concessions for the bullshit of religion, or soft soaping rhetoric about how religion should be 'respected' in and of itself.

He should just debate William Lane Craig and get over it, with a small research on the Kalam Argument and focusing on the 2 first premises of the argument he can debunk him and live happily ever after but he is not doing that, I don't know why, is he running away from Craig or what.

^ Why does that argument even matter? Even if the universe has a "cause", which seems to only make sense if time exists outside of the universe, the wild leap from a "cause" to an Omnimpotent, All-Knowing, Personal God who can answer your prayers becomes meaningless.
