    Cubes are not a good idea - too much stress at the right angles and complexity of joining them together.  Spheres though.  Does not need to be streamlined but I understand gentle curves do give you extra volume for a given unit length of walling.  And you don't need to worry about up.

    There should be no acceleration during warp, because the ship stays still in space: it's the space around the ship that is moved around the universe... or something.


    Ok, otherwise I would've asked why doesn't the ship crash into stars/planets/comets etc that are in front of it, that is in the path it travels, assuming ship motion only occurs in one direction. Tongue

    gentle curves do give you extra volume for a given unit length of walling

    Only applies when you can have the concave sides facing each other. IOW, it's true if you're talking about pressurising a box to bulge the sides a bit, but it's no use for things like the internals of spaceships.
