    Saw this article, not sure of its truth value -- pretty fucked up though. (It's a bit old.)

    A South Korean SBS TV documentary team accuses Chinese pharmaceutical companies of selling dead baby pills as stamina boosters.

    The team reveals that the truth behind the dead baby pill is horrific and disturbing.

    Chinese hospitals and abortion clinics that are connected to the business immediately notify pharmaceutical companies when a baby dies, mostly because of a still birth or an abortion.

    The companies purchase the baby corpses and store them in some family’s refrigerator to avoid suspicion. The next step in this highly secretive process is putting the corpses in a medical drying microwave and grinding them into pills. The ground baby powder is then put in a capsule, ready to be sold as a stamina enhancer, according to the SBS team.

    The Korean team acquired the dead baby capsules and ran DNA tests on it. The test results reportedly indicated the pills were 99.7 percent human. The test also found hair and nail remnants, and even the gender of the baby could be identified. The process will be aired with visuals in the SBS TV documentary on Aug. 6, 2011 in South Korea.


    SBS further reveals that there has been a business network established between China and South Korea for a while, to fulfill the baby capsule demand in South Korean market.

    Besides the dead baby pills, microwave dried placenta is another popular business in China, which hospital staff are allegedly openly involved with

    Placentas fine, crushed babies etc especially after late stage abortions (see nails and hair content of pills) that is tantamount to cannibalism without consent and without dire need (starvation). They should have been given to the parent to bury or buried by someone else.

    I didn't believe this when I first read the OP, and then someone told me today that it was in one of the leading Australian newspapers. I'm still iffy about it.
    However, I certainly won't be taking any supplements or pills in China any time soon, but then again, who knows, maybe it's been put in baby formula sent here from China in the chemical leeching baby bottles.   lipsrsealed

    Wait, they are still sending baby formula here from China after that scare aren't they??? NVM, I don't keep up with the news, so what would I know.  Roll Eyes

    this thread makes me remember some gross picture of human foetus soup and body part found in home refrigerator, I shouldn't watch those, are there cases of the sender being sued, I received those a lot in the past, is this some kind of mental harassment ?

    haha nice pun. I don't even understand this to be honest -- people eat placentas because they hold a lot of nutrients, though I don't see what extra nutrients would come from a baby fetus.

    To be controversial, I don't see anything particularly wrong with this in itself, though this is just treading dangerous territory of forced abortions and infanticide, not to mention leaves open the possibility for some sort of weird foot-in-mouth disease akin to mad cow disease. The belief that eating humans is somehow beneficial can never be a good thing for a society to believe.

    As mentioned earlier in the thread, placentas are loaded with nutrients, and by eating it the mother can pass on those nutrients to the baby through her breastmilk. It's very healthy for anyone to eat, actually. It seems gross, and I've heard of people who fry them up like steaks, which seems a bit weird to me, but most of the time they are dried and ground into capsules so there's no gross factor. It's really pretty common.

    I think it's a good moral benchmark to not eat humans. We have enough reasons to devalue and abuse the human being already without reduction further to nothing more than a foodstuff.
