    Actually I nicked the basic idea from Xenforo and adapted it. It's basically just a standard list-based flyout menu with custom content. Not all that fancy.

    I can't see your sig Ishina, but there's no mention of it in the staff boards. As far as I know nobody has deleted it. I can't see why they would have anyway as it wasn't at all OTT.

    I'd try:

    </div>

    Where "max-height: 100px" can be fine-tuned to whatever max height you want them to be.
    (The <hr> has to be moved outside otherwise it looks ugly when the <div> gets vertical scroll bars)
    Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

    The signature box in my profile edit page was empty. So either I was more wasted than I thought over the weekend and black-out/sleep-walk deleted it for some random reason, or it was a glitch in the Matrix, or someone has been in my account.

    I think "overflow: hidden" would cause a lot of whining: "os! why is signature broken?!!!!!!".
    Scroll bars would make it obvious that their signature is too annoyingly huge for forum decency ^_^

    Anyway, I've just gone and installed a mod that lets us put limits on sig sizes. It's not retrospective at the moment (didn't want to break the current sigs without warning) but it will affect all future edits.

    Pretty good. No biggie anyway. There isn't anything to find in my account. I delete sensitive or extra-private messages anyway so even in the worst case there isn't any serious breach. I was more interested in if it was removed for being offensive or some silly shit like that.

    Nope. If it had been, we would have told you. We usually do things like that by sending a PM so people know what's up.

    ETA: The Profile > Forum Profile page has been updated with the new, provisional signature limits so that everyone knows where they stand.

    These limits are not being applied retrospectively to existing sigs (even though the software allows this) but will come into effect as soon as any edits are made to your sig.

    If there are any problems, make a noise about it. grin12

    I've also hear some people say they like them just because it helps them figure out if someone's a new bod or not, if they don't immediately recognise the name.

    I don't mind either way. If people want 'em gone that's fine with me. Post counts in posts, that is, not the new bods. They can stay. Wink

    I could replace it with the date people joined, if that's not going to make you feel too inadequate. That'll do the job better than post counts, if someone wants to know why they haven't seen a certain name around much.

    I prefer post count as well. It shows how familiar someone is with the place. A member might've joined a while ago but not contributed, and with only the registration date we wouldn't know.

    I'll throw my vote in with join date. If a person's been around for a while and you haven't really heard about them, then there's probably a reason for that which can easily be figured out.

    ^^  This.  Join date means nothing and gives out an illusion of security where none should exist.  Not that post count is much better for that, but at least you can almost be sure that really unsavoury types would most likely have been banned long before achieving that post count.
