    K, had an idea about sigs. They're fun and all, and they can even be useful at times, but when someone's going for it in a topic I don't necessarily want to see their sig on every post. Can get a bit much.

    On t'other hand, I wouldn't want a forum completely bereft of sigs. That would be a bit of a bummer IMO.

    So, how about we sort it so that everyone's sig will show once on each page? This is really easy to do, and I wouldn't mind trying it.

    I vote "yay" since the effects of sigs lose their appeal after I've seen it 5+ times one page. Make it so, admins!

    By the way, just in case anyone doesn't realise, there is already an option to turn off sigs completely in your profile > look and layout page.

    Personally, I don't want them off completely. I like looking at them sometimes, just not all the time. If you're the type of person who doesn't want them at all though, you can already set the forum up that way to suit yourself.

    No, I like the weird and cool and downright crazy things people have to say in their signatures, but I do think a sig after every post instead of every last post of a user per page is a bit excessive. Not a big deal, though, I could go either way.

    I vote nay, since it feels like a hacky solution. Tongue  The annoyance depends on the sig, tbh.

    Anyway, I have other ideas:

    1) When someone puts a quote in their sig (i.e. a quote to a post on this forum), or puts too much text, it sometimes looks like part of the post.  Perhaps changing the style somehow will make it not match the other text.  Make the sig text smaller or duller?

    2) The size of pics in sigs should be limited.  And sorry to be such a spoilsport, but animated gifs are annoying too.  I click "Block Element" when I come across a truly annoying sig.

    Could change the quote style in sigs though. Standard post text is 12px. Sigs and quotes currently both use 11px, which may be causing a little confusion at times. Tweaking the styling of quotes in sigs could fix that, if it's a problem.

    And yeah, I know I really should have used em so IE could resize it. Will fix that sometime.

    Other thing I have thought of is doing something like the screenshot below. Give everyone a combined profile/sig panel that people can check out by hovering over the avatar, without taking up lotsa space all the time.

    How about also making the quote header text (i.e. the link) not in bold?

    How will this affect the phone theme, if at all? Cause I don't think the mobile theme has sigs on it right?

    Wouldn't affect it, unless people particularly wanted the added stuff on mobile. In that case it could easily be added.
