    Zizo has made his own chat room. Personally I prefer it to the one set up by Prince, don't really trust him (he might be able to read PMs! D:) if you want join his chat room, you can do so by clicking the link in my sig.

    Not just him-- amina, clubs, and a lot of other people who rarely use the forum but come on chat. Not a thought was given to them. No warning, no time for people to set up an alternative, transfer ownership, simply remove the link from CEMB or otherwise come up with a compromise/alternative. Just a big "I'm/we're done with it, fuck you" Arrogant bullshit.

    In a few hours, a Palestinian-American teenage ex-muslim girl will likely be coming on to chat to talk with Solara and rora (chat's teenage girl mafia), and won't know what the fuck is up-- hopefully she has their contact info or comes here and sees this announcement thread. That's just one example-- we have ex-muslims and questioning muslims show up at chat that never came on the forum. But hey, whatever, the owner of the forum made a decision by administrative fiat in private consultation with the forum staff which was imposed on all chat users without warning-- guess they'll just have to suck it the fuck up, eh?

    What's funny about this is all the staff here readily admit they don't use chat, don't see a need for it, but then feel oh-so-comfortable in just shutting it down without warning, without notifying or consulting the people who actually do use it. Fuckin bullshit.

    I have no problem with someone else running a chat for everyone to use and have no particular inclination to spend time moderating anything, but don't be so lame as to talk shit about me like that just because you have the hump with me. You know you can't read other people's PMs on IRC, so don't be a tard.

    Now that im thinking Its through chat that i became familiar and close with most of the members here that are on my fb list. Just saying it as one of the benefits that chatroom has over the forum.

Basically a bunch of people (including thinkfree) who didn't use chat privately made a decision on the fate of chat and its users without giving the users any warning.

    Now lemme ask you, thinkfree, Mr. Anarchist, as to your ownership of the chat room which gives you the right to shut it down without warning, what you would think of an employer who shut down a factory without warning because he started it and it's "his"? Now obviously no one is losing their livelihoods out of this, but the ownership principle is the same-- there were other people who made the chatroom what it was-- had it just been you there would have been no chatroom, but now you see fit to toss those people aside, fuck their opinions.

    I could care less about the fate of chat, only it's inclusion as somewhere this forum recommends............which as it happens is a fucking place I use, and run, and need to consider what is best for.

    Right, so then why did thinkfree and the forum staff go out of their way to tell us that it had the forum staff's blessing? The only people who had any right to make a decision over the closing of chat was the owner, thinkfree, and, I would argue, those who actually used it. The forum staff only had a right to decide what was linked from here. In fact, up until now, the forum staff made quite a big deal about the two places being separate, but now chat users are expected to respect this decision because the forum staff approved? Come on.

    I want the forum staff to own up to the fact they had no right to make ANY decision over decommissioning chat, only over whether or not it would be linked from here, and I want thinkfree to own up to the fact that he's a damn hypocrite.
